Our workers always say this is the most Aussie experience they have had in Australia, a REAL Aussie Bush experience with great locals and community. Being a tourism business you will people from all walks of life and cultures. It is a small family business with a small team of staff.
You will learn how to work and think like a "bushie". Just because you have ridden horses or have helped on a farm, doesn't mean you will naturally know how to work on an Aussie bush farm, anyone from anywhere can do it well. It's not knowing how to do something , it's how you approach it...the no problems - just solutions mentality. Learning to have a proactive mind opening your eyes to things around you, all of your senses get enlightened in the bush.
You will be surrounded in nature here, feeling like you're a million miles from anywhere, but you're not, we're in a great location here. Check us out on Google Earth and see the Bush and mountains that surround us :-)
You eat breakfast and lunch on your own and sometimes we eat dinner together if the timing and situation works for us (we can be busy so you may also have dinner on your own, but we provide the food of course), feel free to come to the local country pub with us, play some darts, come surfing with Mark, camp out for the night, great campfires and social gatherings. We work hard but enjoy life too!

Your tasks depends on when you come and for how long you come (you will learn and experience more the longer you stay) you skill set and horse experience level. Standard work is feeding and watering the horses and other farm animals (chickens, ducks, donkey). Grooming and saddling working horses. Keeping horse saddle - up and customer areas tidy, poo patrol. Occasional gardening, painting, weeding, fencing, building projects for those with experience. For experienced horse riders and handlers you will work with our younger horses helping with the training of them. Many who stay/work with us say it's not a job but a lifestyle.

There is the Bush Inn, the communal area for customers and workers (with dart board, campfire and music), your own bush kitchen and of course toilet and hot shower. All your meals are included and we eat well. we love you to cook a meal on occasion too :-) (especially if it's a traditional dish from your country) We don't mind if you like a drink (alcohol) but you pay for that yourself.

We are located 40 mins from Port Macquarie a town known for great surfing beaches, we are surround by many national parks. However we live in an 400 acre bush/rainforest valley, amny workers just go for hikes on our own property and explore here, we have a beautiful creek too. If you have your own car of course you can go off and look around, or we can drop you into Wauchope to catch the bus to Port Macquarie.
