    Description

We live on the peaceful Surf Coast near Geelong with my 6-year-old son. Our neighbourhood is quiet, safe, and close to beaches, walking tracks and native bushland — a beautiful place to unwind and explore the coast.

It’s just the two of us at home. I’m a pastry chef running a small local business, friendly and easy-going, and my son is a sweet, creative little boy who loves art and playing outside. We enjoy a calm, relaxed home and welcome someone kind and respectful to share our daily rhythm.

I’m originally from Germany, so we speak both English and German at home, and we love welcoming people from different backgrounds into our daily life. I’ve volunteered with Feed Me, a local social enterprise that rescues food from supermarkets, and through that and our life on the Surf Coast we have a big, warm circle of friends that Workawayers are always welcome to meet.

You’ll be part of our relaxed family rhythm — sharing meals, conversations, and simple daily routines with me and my 6-year-old son, Alby. As a pastry chef, I’m happy to share baking skills, recipes, and food culture, and we’re always curious to learn about your traditions, experiences and language.

What I hope most is that my son grows up understanding that people from all around the world are the same at heart — and that even when we don’t share a language, we can still connect, communicate, and care for one another

    Help

I’m mainly looking for someone who can help with light household tasks and spending time with my 6-year-old son, Alby. This might include playing with him, keeping an eye on him while I’m busy, or helping with simple daily routines around the home. Nothing heavy or stressful — just an extra pair of hands to make our days flow more smoothly.

We’ll often be doing things alongside each other, and I’m very happy to share my skills as a pastry chef if you’re interested in baking or learning new recipes. I also love the idea of cultural exchange and look forward to hosting someone from a different background and learning from each other.

    Accommodation

Workawayers have their own private room with a comfortable double bed, air-conditioning, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. It’s a quiet, cosy space where you can relax and have complete privacy during your stay.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are buses nearby that go to Geelong and Torquay, and a train station close enough to reach Melbourne easily. On your days off you can explore the Surf Coast beaches, walking tracks, cafés, markets, and the Great Ocean Road — there’s plenty of nature and culture to enjoy.

We keep a calm, respectful home and appreciate people who are tidy, honest, and mindful of the space and interiors. We’re looking for someone who values a peaceful environment and is genuinely interested in cultural exchange.

We’re relaxed and easy-going, and simply ask for open communication and mutual respect while sharing our home.
