  Hello Workawayers!
  
  I'm looking for a reliable, respectful, and independent person who would like to exchange some help around the house for free room and board. This is a win-win situation: you'll be welcomed into a peaceful family home, with good food and a comfortable space, in exchange for regular help with everyday tasks.
  
  What I offer:
  
  - A large private room with a sink (the room needs to be prepared as our first task :-)
  - Access to the kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, and outdoor yard
  - Occasional use of my car, depending on needs (otherwise, the Argenteuil bus line runs daily)
  
  A calm and friendly atmosphere in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature — a river flows just a few meters from the house, and a beautiful old-growth forest is within walking distance for peaceful walks or relaxation
  
  I believe in clear and respectful communication, and I’m open to discussing arrangements that suit us both. Trust and flexibility are key to making this kind of exchange work.

  Je suis à la recherche d’une personne fiable, respectueuse et autonome, intéressée par un échange de services contre le gîte et le couvert. Il s’agit d’un arrangement gagnant-gagnant : vous serez logé(e), nourri(e) et accueilli(e) dans un environnement familial paisible, en échange d’un coup de main régulier dans la vie quotidienne.
  
  Ce que j’offre :
  
  - Une grande chambre privée avec lavabo
  
  - Accès à la cuisine, salle de bain, laveuse/sécheuse et cour extérieure
  
  - Possibilité d’utiliser ma voiture à l’occasion, selon les besoins. Sinon, le service d’autobus d’Argenteuil passe quotidiennement
  
  - Une ambiance conviviale, dans un quartier tranquille entouré de nature : une rivière coule à quelques mètres de la maison et une forêt centenaire est accessible à pied pour les moments de détente
  
  Tout est discutable si la communication est claire et respectueuse. Ce genre d’échange repose sur la confiance et la souplesse de part et d’autre.

  I’m looking for someone versatile, who can provide flexible and regular support with day-to-day tasks. Since the arrival of our children, many things have piled up in and around the house — your help would be truly appreciated.
  
  Tasks may include:
  
  Helping with childcare, sometimes including meal preparation
  Running errands and grocery shopping
  Daily cleaning and occasional deeper cleaning
  Contributing to the improvement of your room (already livable, but still in progress)
  Outdoor maintenance (weeding, mowing, trimming shrubs, picking up branches)
  Various small projects depending on current needs (light DIY, seasonal organizing, etc.)
  
  
  Je cherche quelqu’un de polyvalent, capable d’offrir un soutien souple et régulier dans les tâches du quotidien. Depuis la naissance des enfants, plusieurs tâches se sont accumulées dans et autour de la maison. Votre aide serait précieuse. Cela comprend :
  
  - Un appui pour la garde des enfants, incluant parfois la préparation des repas.
  
  - Les courses et comissions
  
  - Le ménage (quotidien et à l’occasion plus en profondeur)

  Accommodation

  The person hosted will sleep in the basement, in a large private room. The room is equipped with a sink, a bed, and basic furniture, and offers enough space to feel comfortable and independent. The bathroom is located nearby, on the same floor. It is occasionally shared, but you will generally have exclusive use of it, making it a quasi-private space. The main entrance to the house is shared, as is access to the kitchen, the dining room, the laundry room (washer/dryer), and the outdoor courtyard. We share these spaces while respecting everyone's schedules and needs. The children require a routine with mealtime assistance: healthy as much as possible. They normally enjoy participating in meal planning. The accommodation is quiet, well heated in winter, and remains cool in summer. The environment is conducive to relaxation, surrounded by nature, with a river just steps away and a century-old forest within walking distance.
  
  I will provide 3 meals a day and more if needed (some treats!) in exchange for up to 25 hours a week of help (with 3 full days off).
  
  
  La personne accueillie dormira au sous-sol, dans une grande chambre privée. La pièce est équipée d’un lavabo, d’un lit, de mobilier de base, et offre suffisamment d’espace pour se sentir confortable et autonome. La salle de bain est située à proximité, au même étage. Elle est partagée occasionnellement, mais vous en aurez généralement l’usage exclusif, ce qui en fait un espace quasi privé.
  
  L’entrée principale de la maison est commune, tout comme l’accès à la cuisine, à la salle à manger, à la buanderie (laveuse/sécheuse) et à la cour extérieure. Nous partageons ces espaces dans le respect des horaires et des besoins de chacun.
  
  Les enfants demandent une routine avec l'aide au repas : santé tant que possible. Ils aiment normalement participer à la conception des repas.
  
  Le logement est calme, bien chauffé en hiver, et reste frais l’été. L’environnement est propice à la détente, entouré de nature, avec une rivière à quelques pas et une forêt centenaire accessible à pied.

  Lachute, located in the Argenteuil region of the Laurentians, is a small town surrounded by nature. It offers a peaceful and friendly atmosphere — perfect for enjoying the outdoors.
  
  You can use the local bus service to get to Lachute or Saint-Jérôme, and I can occasionally lend you my car when needed.
  
  Nearby, you’ll find hiking trails, bike paths, rivers for swimming or paddling, and winter activities like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. The town also features a large flea market, cozy cafés, community events, and seasonal festivals.
  
  It’s an ideal place to discover local Québec culture while living close to nature.
  
  
  Lachute, située dans la MRC d’Argenteuil, est une petite ville des Laurentides entourée de nature. L’ambiance y est calme, conviviale et parfaite pour profiter du plein air.
  
  Vous pouvez utiliser le service d'autobus de la ville pour aller à Lachute ou Saint Jérôme, mais je peux parfois prêter ma voiture.
  
  À proximité, vous trouverez des sentiers de randonnée, des pistes cyclables, des rivières pour se baigner ou pagayer, ainsi que des activités hivernales comme la raquette ou le ski de fond. La ville propose aussi un grand marché aux puces, des cafés, des événements communautaires et des festivals saisonniers.
  
  Un endroit idéal pour découvrir la culture locale québécoise tout en vivant proche de la nature.
