Description
🔆 Hello! I’m Ana (33), and I live in my home in Avinyonet de Puigventós, a quiet village 8 km from Figueres. I’m an art history teacher, yoga instructor and naturopath.
I’m starting a personal, non-profit project on the history and anthropology of food. The aim is to travel across Catalonia in search of ancestral traditions, sustainable initiatives, farms, eco-projects and local people who preserve knowledge and care for the land. I’m looking for someone who can help with video recording and editing.
🌱 What you will experience
By joining this project, you’ll discover people and initiatives that protect and respect the territory. We will meet farmers, artisans and communities who work sustainably with the environment — from traditional practices to regenerative livestock projects.
Together, we will explore the gastronomy, crafts, landscapes and cultural heritage of Catalonia. You will also become part of my family. One or two days a week we visit my parents in Llançà, a beautiful coastal town on the Costa Brava. You’re welcome to join us to cook traditional dishes, bake bread, explore stunning places and spend time together.
We have been hosting volunteers since 2012, and it has always been a wonderful experience!
🏡 About my home and lifestyle
I live in the old town of the village. It’s very peaceful — the only sounds are the bells and the birds. Nature is all around us. At home I use organic and environmentally friendly products.
I enjoy cooking, walking, reading and practicing yoga, and you’re welcome to join me in these activities if you feel like it. When possible, we will also go to local festivals or cultural events in the area.

We will need to visit farms and eco-projects, so it’s important that both of us are flexible with schedules.
The village has a bar, pharmacy and small grocery shop.
Figueres is 8 km away, and you can reach it by bike or I can drive you when needed. Also, there is a bus stop.

I speak Spanish, Catalan, English and some French.

I’m going to share my life, my friends, and my family with you, and we can also do activities together. I love showing people around my area and doing nature and cultural activities. Accommodation
You’ll have a private room with a single bed, a bedside table, fresh linens, blankets, and all the essentials you might need for a comfortable stay. The house is small but cozy. I really enjoy taking care of it and keeping it tidy and clean.
What else ...
The Empordà region in general will appeal to those interested in the history and/or burgeoning viticulture and gastronomy of Northern Catalonia. Figueres works well as a base for day trips to these destinations. It is also happens to be the case that Figueres is 15 minutes by car or 25 minutes by train from the beaches of the Costa Brava.
