    Description

My name is Jens (Ecki), and a few years ago I moved from Germany to Sweden to bring a small farm back to life.

Since then, I’ve been building this place step by step. It’s not a finished project, but something that keeps growing over time – with ideas, effort and a lot of passion.
From small construction projects to growing vegetables and taking care of animals, this place is slowly becoming something special.

There is always something to do here, and I really appreciate any help – whether it’s construction work, gardening, helping around the house, or even IT-related tasks. Everyone can contribute depending on their interests and skills.

    Current projects:
This summer, several exciting projects are planned:
The chicken coop will be modernized, the service building is being expanded, and a new path towards the lake will be created.
In addition, there are many smaller tasks and the usual daily work with the garden and animals.

The farm is located about halfway between Hammerdal and Ramsele, right in the forest next to a lake. It’s very quiet here – you’re truly surrounded by nature.
When you step outside in the morning and see nothing but forest, water and animals, you quickly realize how special this place is.

The main source of income is tourism, not the farm itself. That’s why I’m looking for support as a private person – from people who enjoy being hands-on and would like to become part of this project for a while.

    ---------------------------------

    Aktuelle Projekte:
In diesem Sommer stehen mehrere spannende Projekte an:

Staying here is not just about helping – it’s about experiencing a different way of life.
You’ll get a real insight into what it means to live in the middle of Swedish nature, with its calmness, space and a daily rhythm that is very different from city life.

You can learn practical skills, for example in construction, working with animals or gardening. But just as important is the exchange of experiences, perspectives and ways of thinking.

For me, it’s not only about working together, but also about sharing time, having conversations and learning from each other.
Many people leave not only with new skills, but also with new ideas, a calmer mindset and sometimes even a different view on life.

There is always something to do here, but everything is very relaxed and depends on your skills and what you enjoy doing.

At the moment, the main focus is on a few practical projects around the farm. This summer, I’m planning to modernize the chicken coop, expand the service building and create a new path leading down to the lake.

Besides that, there are always smaller tasks like helping in the garden, taking care of the animals, doing little repairs or supporting with general daily things around the farm.

If you have experience in construction, gardening or even IT, that’s great – but it’s definitely not required. What matters most is that you’re motivated, open-minded and don’t mind getting your hands a bit dirty from time to time 🙂

    Accommodation

There are several accommodation options available, depending on availability.
You can either stay in a large caravan on the property, have your own room in the main house, or – if it’s not rented out at the time – stay in one of the holiday homes.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

My farm is located on the edge of a very small village (around 25 inhabitants), right in the middle of the Swedish wilderness. It is truly quite remote – the nearest shop is about 30 minutes away, and life here is much quieter and simpler than in a city.

If you are looking for action, nightlife or a busy social scene, this is probably not the right place for you.
But if you enjoy peace, nature and a place where you can really slow down, you will feel very comfortable here.

In your free time, you can explore the surroundings, relax by the lake, go fishing, take walks in the forest or simply enjoy nature. Especially in summer, this place becomes something very special with long days and endless light.

Even though it’s remote, getting here is quite easy:
You can travel by bus, train or plane to Östersund, and I will happily pick you up from there.

    Can possibly accept pets

Pets are welcome here. However, I have to point out to dog owners that they are required to be kept on a leash in Sweden and they are also required to be kept on a leash on farms. Unfortunately, I had bad experiences, including one of my sheep being killed by one of our guests' dogs running loose. Therefore, I welcome pets, but please be careful.
