I'm french and Othman is a bedouin from Petra. We live in a wonderful house next to Petra (Othman is a hiking guide and i'm a tour designer) We have a home where we received tourists from all over the world. We love to share the bedouin culture of Othman and hang out with his funny family in the nature.

Petra entrance is few minutes walking from the house. Also you can spend time in the bedouin village and help families there :)

We are glad to share the bedouin culture with you. You can exchange language and learn arabic with bedouin family. Also you will learn about the bedouin way of life, Othman's parents have a farm with goats so why not experience to shepering in Petra's nature.
The last but not the least, learn to cook bedouin food! Maklouba and Mansaf are the main traditionnal dish, but there is a lot of specialities you learn to cook also! Jordanian cuisine is very rich and we are food lover so that would be a good opportunity for you to eperience the bedouin cuisine!
We have a guesthouse in petra and we are looking for some volonteers who would like to stay with us an discover more about the bedouin culture. We have 2 wonderfull cats and tourists coming from all over the world. Its a real melting pot here! And we like to share our culture with everyone! So if you want enjoy the taste of local life in Petra, join us! Your mission if you accept it would be feeding the cat help us with the house and the guest :) but also help Othman's parents in their farm. Also you can do language exchange in the bedouin village. So many thing to do and learn here :)
The volonteer will have his own room with a confortable bed and of course access to all the house. We provide you towels and sheets and blanket. So just come as you are! :)
During your time off you can enjoy explore Petra, make new friends and also explore Jordan!
Wadi Rum desert is very close (45 min) and the red sean (Aqaba)
