    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a Portuguese/Dutch couple. We are very concerned with the future of our planet and try to make our land into an oasis of biodiversity. We also try to enjoy life; we hike, make roadtrips, camp and go to the beach.

  • Help

    Help

The help we need varies with the seasons, this is a general overview. For the heavy groundwork we use a machine but there is still a lot of digging to do after the machine did its work.

Vegetable and fruit garden - Pruning, harvesting, processing. (Household scale)
Planting trees and plants - Digging holes, bringing soil and compost (wheelbarrow), putting support poles. (hammer)
Nursery - Propagating, watering, repotting plants and trees.
Cutting weeds with weedcutter. (Experience is nice but not neccessary)
Digging watercatching channels on the hill.
Building dam(s) in the river with sandbags, the sand is already in the river ;-)
Building ponds and small channels for irrigation.
    Preparing/egalizing platforms.
Installing Phytofilter for grey water. (More digging, put plastic, gravel, sand, plants..)
Tree maintenance - Cutting, removing and collecting branches. (Burning in winter and spring)
Maintenance of vermiculture, composting, hydroponics, nursery.
Building maintenance - Cleaning (High pressure) Painting, small concrete repairs.
