Description
Welcome to our hostel on the Isle of Skye! Providing comfort as well as a sharp design, we are a luxurious but friendly hostel with private pods on the hill behind us. There are gorgeous views of Uig bay and the sea through large windows which surround the main living and dining areas of the bunkhouse, and a large wood burning stove which gives a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Our bunk beds have been custom made to provide wonderful sleeping areas complete with individual lights.
There are 34 beds divided into 6 dorms, and we have 8 en-suite pods up on the hill behind the bunkhouse.

This is your chance to experience life on the beautiful Isle of Skye. We are looking for someone who has fantastic cleaning skills and an eye for detail, as well as being friendly and welcoming to guests. We are just a small team but everyone is lovely and super proud of the atmosphere we work to create here!
The main things we need some help with are cleaning tasks. Cleaning is reasonably physical; bed making, mopping and vacuuming, as well as lifting laundry bags and carrying them between the bunkhouse and the pods (often in quite 'Scottish' weather!).
There may also be the opportunity for some reception work at certain times of the year. Reception will keep your head dry and is just ensuring that guests are checked in or out in a friendly and helpful manner. We need honest, responsible folk with an enthusiastic and joyful personality. A good level of spoken English is quite important.
As well as accommodation in one of our luxury bunk beds (with curtains!) we also offer free internet, laundry, and tea & coffee. There is a great little village shop just down the hill from us, annd local buses stop at the bottom of our driveway.
We offer payment in line with minimum wage for all hours worked; please only message us if you have a legal right to work in the UK. Depending upon the needs of the week you will have 2-3 days off to explore the island (or just relax!).
We require someone who can stay for at least a month, and welcome longer stays.Languages spoken

What else ...
You will have plenty of time to get out and about to explore the Isle of Skye. Uig is a small and friendly village with 2 shops, a hotel, a pub, a restaurant, a cafe and a brewery.
If you don't have transport there is a bus stop just past the end of our driveway where both the local buses and the Citylink stop, so easy to get out and about. Uig is also the gateway to the Outer Hebrides; just a quick hop on a ferry and you could be exploring Lewis, Uist and beyond.
If you want to relax, we have a wood burning stove in our lounge with a big picture window overlooking the bay. Skye offers some amazing hiking opportunities and fantastic scenery.A little more information
