Description
Our family, Teresa, Len and the kids, Nathan (11yrs old) and Jacob (10yrs old). We have a small farm (14 acres) that we need help with. Help we need can include Rocky, our dog to walk, horses to feed and ride if capable, eggs to collect, milking our house cow, vege gardens that need weeding, lawns to mow etc. We grow veges and raise meat for us to eat. We don't sell any produce from the farm. This means we eat really well! We only host people with their own car as we are over an hour from the nearest public transport. Also prefer to host people who are happy to eat meat as we eat lots of meat (grown and killed on our farm).
Our volunteers cabin is small and basic, set away from the main house so you have your own space. You will share a bathroom with our family.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Need help feeding the animals, gardening, mowing lawns, weed control on the farm etc. Our farm is our source if meat, eggs and milk for our home. We also eat lots of veges from the vege garden and fruit from our home orchard. We don't sell any produce, milk, eggs or meat from our farm. Three meals a day in return for 3 hours work in the morning, help yourself to breakfast and lunch and then I am happy to cook dinner unless you wish to.

What else ...
Own transport is a must, as we are 45minutes from the main city Gisborne and there is no public transport and this allows you to explore what the area has to offer. The beautiful beaches of the East Coast are only minutes away, take a swim, surf or fish. The famous Tolaga Bay wharf is also only a 5 minute drive where you can take a walk down or if feeling brave jump off. Also, there is the Cooks Cove walk, which takes in a mixture of farmland and native bush not to mention views of the coast and sea
