    Description

We are a Marion and Vincent, a French family living in the beautiful baroque town of Lecce, in the very south of Italy, close to the Adriatic and Ionian coasts. We have been living here for almost ten years. I recently opened my own shop, Lady papavero, where I design and sell unique papier-mâché jewelry, inspired by the rich heritage of Lecce’s traditional craftsmanship and Vincent is woking in the tourism industry.
We have two lively daughters ( Juliette and Margaux: 3 and 5 years old this summer) who are used to growing up in a bilingual and creative environment. We also have a cat, hopefully you’re not allergic to cats.
Lecce is a wonderful place to stay: it's full of culture, great food, lively piazzas in the evening, and beaches just 15 minutes away. We are leaving in a house in the historical center of Lecce with a garden and a rooftop.
This is a real family experience. We believe in cultural exchange, respect and sharing. You’ll have your own room with your own bathroom and all meals included, and we’ll do our best to make you feel at home while also giving you time for yourself.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our home is a lively and welcoming space where French and Italian cultures blend naturally. You’ll be immersed in daily life with two bilingual girls, and we love to share meals, music, traditions and conversations. Lecce and the surrounding region of Puglia are rich in history, craftsmanship, and local festivals — summer is a perfect time to explore this vibrant cultural life!

We love to take part in local events, from traditional patron saint celebrations to sunset aperitivi and open-air concerts. If you’re curious, we’ll gladly bring you along and introduce you to our favorite places and people.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about papier-mâché art, a traditional craft from Lecce. I design and create jewelry using this ancient technique, and I’d be happy to show you the process and share some creative time if that interests you.

By hosting someone from a different culture, we hope to broaden our daughters’ horizons and build beautiful exchanges based on respect, discovery, and kindness. We’re curious to learn about your language, your customs, your food — and we’d love for you to feel at home with us while bringing your own touch to our daily life.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for someone to help us with childcare, especially during the summer holidays when our daughters are off school and summer camp.
Someone available ideally from mid-June to mid-September. But it could also be around August as the girls will not attend summer camp. During that time, we will need someone to:
    * Spend the day with the girls while we are working (at home or in the shop),
    * Take them to the park, do creative or educational activities with them,
    * Prepare simple meals or snacks if needed,
    * Join us for some beach days or short trips (not every day),
    * Be flexible: some days will be OFF for you, some will be longer — we’ll always discuss the plan together in advance.
What matters to us is not just “babysitting”, but really engaging in meaningful time with the kids: playing, reading, drawing, inventing stories or simple games. We value gentle discipline, patience, structure, and a didactic spirit. If you have experience in education, animation or creative activities, that's a big plus.
Depending on your interests, you’re also welcome to learn about papier-mâché jewelry making and our local traditions — I would be happy to share what I know, and you might enjoy visiting local artisans with us too.
You’ll also have time to explore the area and enjoy the southern Italian lifestyle.

    Accommodation

We live in a charming house in the historic center of Lecce, a beautiful baroque town in southern Italy. You will have your own private bedroom with its bathroom on the ground floor, separate from our family’s bedrooms, which are upstairs.

The house is clean, safe, and peaceful, located within walking distance from shops, cafés, parks and lively piazzas. We ask that you do not host overnight guests (friends or partners) in our home, in order to maintain a calm and respectful atmosphere for our family.

We will provide you with three meals a day, unless we agree otherwise. You’re welcome to join us at the table, and we love to cook with fresh, local ingredients — simple and delicious!

Let us know if you have any dietary preferences or restrictions, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
