Description
We are a family living in a large house in Spain, and we are looking for friendly, independent and practical people who would like to stay with us and become part of our everyday life for a while.
The house is quite big and there is always something to do! We are not running a farm or a business - this is simply our family home, and we would love to have some extra life, energy and company around the house.
I work as an electrician in the city, so I am away during the day on weekdays. Because of this, we are especially looking for people who are comfortable working independently and enjoying their free time. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There are plenty of opportunities for cultural exchange during your stay!
I am German, but I speak German, English and Spanish, so we can communicate in whichever language you prefer. My stepfather speaks German only, so if you are interested in learning or practising German, he is also a great person to talk to.
The house is close to the local town, where there are many local festivals and traditional celebrations throughout the year. It's a nice opportunity to experience Spanish life beyond the typical tourist areas.
There is also a train station very close to the house, so you can easily travel to other towns and places along the coast without needing a car. I am happy to recommend places to visit and things to do in the area.
Because the house is quite large, I sometimes organise small, informal gatherings with friends and family, such as BBQs with the pool, dinners or board game evenings. You are always welcome to join if you feel like it! These are usually in Spanish, which can also be a good opportunity to practise the language and meet local people.
At the same time, you will have plenty of freedom and your own time to explore the area, relax or travel around Spain.
For me, the idea is that we can share our different languages, cultures, food and everyday life, rather than simply having a host and a Workawayer doing tasks for each other. -
Help
There are always little projects waiting to be done around a large house. Nothing particularly specialised — just practical things that we never seem to have enough time for.
Depending on your interests and skills, this could include:
Fixing or assembling things around the house
Light maintenance
Gardening and taking care of outdoor areas
Cleaning and keeping the house organised
Laundry
Helping with cooking and preparing meals
General household tasks
Occasionally helping with painting or fixing things around the house
You don't need to be an expert. Being practical, willing to learn and happy to get your hands dirty is much more important. -

Accommodation
The house has two floors.
The ground floor contains a large garage, a gym and a separate accessible living area for a member of our family who uses a wheelchair.
The upper floor is the main living area, with:
5 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
a large kitchen
common living spaces
access to the outdoor areas
There is plenty of space, so you won't feel like you are living on top of each other. -
What else ...
We are looking for open-minded, respectful and independent people.
You don't need to have particular qualifications. We would especially appreciate people who:
enjoy practical projects
like gardening
enjoy cooking
are comfortable doing things independently
don't mind helping with everyday household tasks
enjoy meeting new people and sharing everyday life
are curious about Spanish culture and life in Spain
Couples or friends travelling together could also be a possibility depending on the dates and accommodation available. -
