    About us

    We are Jo and Steve, whose home is also a small chambre d’hotes (Bed and Breakfast) in beautiful medieval Sarlat in the Dordogne. We have lived here almost ten years and have a working knowledge of French. We are friendly, welcoming and have three gentil rescue dogs, each year we go to Spain and seem to return with an extra one!

    You will be able to sample French life - French language, cultural, markets twice weekly, restaurants, bars five minutes walk. Further afield (car needed) are some of the most "beautiful" villages in France, cave paintings, chateaux and gardens.

    To help renovate an old house in town. General maintenance and DIY, ANY SKILLS APPRICIATED. Require person with common sense and a willingness to get hands on.

    Suitable singles travellers, friends, possibly couples.

    Description

    We are located in central Sarlat, which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
    There is often evening entertainment during the summer, and local bars and restaurants only a 5 minute walk away.

    Within a 15 minute drive; we have, stunning Beynac, Castelnaud and Marqueyssac chateaux, La Roque Gageac a stunning medieval bastide town, beautiful unspoilt villages on the Dordogne, with canoeing, kayaking and swimming, plus an abundance of local markets, vineyards and interesting sights.


    Getting here

    There is a train from bordeaux directly to sarlat train station.
    Otherwise you can get a train or Megabus from Paris to Brive, about 45 minutes away. Bergerac airport, 1 hour away, can collect.
