    Description

Thank you for your interest in volunteering on our land!

Our family moved from the city to this magical property so we can learn and grow with the land. Would you like to join us on this journey?

    ---------------

    *** WANTED ***

    Help with fallen trees!!
A storm came through and some damaging was done to the trees. We need immediate help with landscaping and clearing what has fallen. We are also making maple syrup currently, If you're inspired to learn how to do that, join us for the adventure!

    Certified Yoga Teacher
We are actively looking for yoga instructors who can offer my parents (65 + 70) daily yoga sessions, with and emphasis on guided meditation, yin yoga and flow for flexibility, endurance and muscle toning. 2-3 sessions if they participate separately and 1-2 sessions if they participate together. Please reach out with any questions.

    ---------------

We have free range chickens, our dog Biscuit and cat Betty, with wild animals whose migrational lines cross through the land.

Our focus is on small repairs and projects. I also have a medicine garden working in reciprocity with the food forest emerging, filled with wild edibles plants! We have received gifts of golden berries, mullein, blackberries, wild parsnips, ramps and so much more from the forest.

I can teach you about local medicines, regenerative permaculture and sustainable foraging, if you're interested in exploring ancestral food practices and plant spirit medicine. Being of service to this land is an expression of radical activism, as we rewild the landscape we create counter cultural practices that cultivate a depth of connection with self and the more than human world, revitalize relationships, and reclaim autonomy over our food as medicine.

If this is a path you resonate with, join us on this journey of personal and planetary discovery, restoration and regeneration!

We are looking for someone who is dedicated supporting our initiative. It’s our hope that you come to learn something during your stay, contribute to our ability to maintain the property and cohesion of the land, and that you return home with something valuable to share with your community

Someone who is able to contribute in a way that is meaningful for you.

You are free to take excursions to nearby national parks with campsites like Bon Echo, explore ancient hieroglyphs and local culinary delights, if you are driving independently. We are happy to arrange your drop off and pick up locally. In the summertime camping is always available, we also have a room indoors - as you wish! If you wish to embark on a journey into the forest for solitude and isolation, this is always an option. We ask that you clear the trails and help organize the deadfall to be picked up later.

We are inviting responsible, hardworking individuals to help us around the house and forest, who are capable of contributing no more than 5 hours a day.

We are located in Southern Ontario, 2.5 hours east of Toronto. We offer private accommodations, wi-fi, shared bathrooms, laundry and sustenance!! You're welcome to use the (non-vegan) kitchen to prepare your own food.

Please reach out in response to the projects that interest you

Wood Cutter - cutting, collecting and chopping wood
Arborist - pruning trees, cutting dead trees down for safety (safety certification or training required)
Cabin Repairs - framing, window replacement, painting and insulation
Landscaping - pruning, gardening, grooming and lawn maintenance
Carpentry - barn house repairs, minor household repairs (building cabins and greenhouses are active projects)
Food forest/regenerative permaculture - identifying and introducing local wild food sources into the forest in an intentional and sustainable way

If you have any other creative projects, we are open to discussing them!
Artists, tradespeople, wellness practitioners are very welcome !!

With lots of time to relax, enjoy the land and plan your own activities, you will be self-guided and self-motivated on the projects you choose to pursue. You will have flexibility in your own schedule. We have had amazing experiences with workawayers in the past and look forward to welcoming those who honour the work that needs doing by taking initiative. We hope this freedom suits you. Space is limited so please ask any questions about your subjective roles and responsibilities during your stay.

    Warmly,

    Bronwyn & Fam
