Description
A retired woman from the non-profit sector, passionate about ecology and gardening, I'm still very active: I volunteer at a work-integration program focused on organic market gardening, and for the past two years I've lived in a self-built container home, which still needs some interior finishing touches (tiling, paneling, shelves, false ceilings, etc.). It's already perfectly habitable, with a large mezzanine for guests, solar hot water, composting toilets, and more. I also have a garden that's currently being planted. I live in a very pretty village on Réunion Island, surrounded by mountains—a truly magnificent setting. I love my island; I could talk about it for hours and point out all the wonders to discover.
Femme retraitée du secteur associatif, passionnée d'écologie et de jardinage, je suis restée active : je m'occupe d'un chantier d'insertion en maraichage biologique, et je vis depuis 2 ans dans ma nouvelle maison, en autoconstruction, à partir de conteneurs, qui demande encore quelques travaux d'aménagement (parquets, peintures, carrelages...). Elle est quand même déjà habitable, avec une grande mezzanine pour recevoir les hôtes, eau chaude solaire, toilettes sèches etc.. J'ai aussi un jardin en cours de plantations. Je vis dans un très joli village de la Réunion, entouré de montagnes, un site magnifique. J'aime mon île et je peux en parler pendant des heures et montrer toutes les merveilles à y découvrir.

I'm offering to entertein you with DIY and/or gardening tasks. I'm quite experienced in both areas, so you'd be happy to lend a hand, as it's always easier with two or three people, especially with heavy materials. You can either be a DIY enthusiast or a gardener, or you'd like to learn. Around the house, we can: lay parquet flooring, paneling, and tiles; paint walls and shutters; and build wooden shelves and cupboards. In the garden, we can: plant shrubs, tend a small vegetable patch (organic, of course!), clear brush, prune, and mow the lawn. I have a good range of tools, so no problem.
Je propose de vous recevoir pour des travaux de bricolage et/ou de jardinage. J'ai pas mal d'expérience dans les 2 domaines, et je serai ravie d'avoir un coup de main dans mes travaux, car c'est souvent plus facile à 2 ou à 3, surtout pour des matériaux un peu lourds !! Vous pouvez être déjà bricoleur et/ou jardinier, ou vous pouvez avoir envie d'apprendre. Pour la maison, nous pouvons : poser du parquet, des lambris, peindre des cloisons, des volets, construire des étagères en bois, des placards... Dans le jardin, nous pouvons : planter des arbustes, entretenir un petit potager (bio, bien sûr !), débroussailler, tailler, tondre.. J'ai tout l'outillage nécessaire, pas de pb.

As I mentioned before, the house is already comfortable, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, terrace, garden, and a large mezzanine above the living room, furnished for welcoming guests. I mostly eat organic food, I cook Creole and French cuisine, lots of vegetables, and a little meat and fish from time to time. I really enjoy cooking, and also making preserves and jams. We can eat together or separately; I'm flexible.
Comme je l'ai dit plus haut, la maison est déjà confortable, avec salon, cuisine, salle de bains, terrasse, jardin et une grande mezzanine au-dessus du salon, aménagée pour recevoir. Je mange bio la plupart du temps, je cuisine créole et français, beaucoup de légumes, et viande et poisson de temps en temps. J'aime beaucoup cuisiner, et faire des conserves et des confitures. Nous pouvons manger ensemble ou séparément, je suis flexible.
What else ...
I also have a dog and two cats, and I'll set up a chicken coop as soon as possible. I'm an early riser. Smoking is not allowed in the house, but it's fine on the patio and in the garden.
The house is quite accessible; there are buses, and we can arrange transportation with my car if needed.
J'ai 1 chien et 2 chats, et j'aurai un poulailler dès que possible. Je suis plutôt matinale. La maison est non-fumeur, mais c'est possible de fumer sur la terrasse et dans le jardin.
La maison est assez accessible, il y a des bus, et nous pouvons nous arranger pour les déplacements avec ma voiture.
