Current update August, 2020:
Our community continues to be healthy, and there have been no active Covid-19 cases. We are adhering to all protocols and our residents and staff, and volunteers are work together in each of our homes, who are doing an amazing job of supporting our residents during this challenging time. We feel confident in welcoming volunteers now, and are glad to answer any questions and concerns you may have.
Our mission is to partner with adults with diverse abilities to live healthy, self determined lives. We believe in the potential of every human to contribute and take pleasure in their productivity and relationships, independently of their abilities and disabilities.
We share our lives with people with special needs and they with us.
We are a household — a family — bound together by mutual respect, work and love.
The most important thing in life is relationships. Everything else is how we put substance and value around those relationships.
Located on an organic farm in rural Western Massachusetts, our organization is focused on whole food nutrition. Our day program features a weavery, life skills lessons, hikes, working in the garden, and picnics and cookouts at the farm and at our residences. For the present, we look forward again to visits to the gym, and participation in our greater community programs such as horseback riding and performing arts.
Volunteers are important members of our team. In exchange for housing, food, and a $200/month stipend, our volunteers provide our residents compassionate care and companionship. We are eager to welcome new volunteers for another great year at the the Home.
