Hey Future Workawayers!
Our place in Da Lat, Vietnam is looking for enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to join our team.
We are a hostel and plant-based restaurant serving specialty coffee that we roast in the same building (our brand is London Saigon Coffee Company). We are located in the stunning mountains of Vietnam's highland region - Lam Dong. At 1500m above sea level, its cool climate and clean air draws visitors from around the world.
Our core business philosophy focuses on showing people a plant-based lifestyle can be just as exciting, delicious and fun as any other diet. We also believe that you can adopt a positive environmental approach with little to no negative affect on the business.
Our brand is focussed on giving our global and local guests a feeling of home. Whether thats a cat curled up on your lap, a friendly face or familiar home food. Our volunteers are essential in fostering and maintaining this environment.
Over the last 2.5 years, Briana, Nick and over 80 different Workawayers have help to make our place what it is today.
As a part of our goal to start our business free from debt or outside investment we've been using recycled materials where possible, aim to be as zero waste as possible and incorporate an environmentally conscious approach to what we do. Each workaway volunteer has brought their own unique charm and character to the place, from building beds, chairs and decking, large scale wall art and macrame curtains to web development, packaging design and coffee processing.
Volunteers help out with the general running of the house and hostel: resetting rooms, dishes, food prep, entertaining guests etc. as well as creative projects that they are interested in.
The building work was mostly finished but now we are renovating and upscaling to accommodate the growth over the last 2 years. Creative projects are now focussed on graphic design, marketing and web development as well as making the place look cool and to showcase the amazing talents of everyone we meet! As we develop our brand we really need help with getting our marketing looking professional including our social media - which we are both too busy to manage. We'd also love help with merchandising - such as t-shirts, menu design and other printed material.
Our policy since the start has been to let our WA volunteers have almost total creative control over the projects that they run. If you're the kind of person who likes to work independently, have been looking for a project, expressive outlet or just interested in doing something different then send a message our way!
Please note we ask for a minimum 2-week commitment.

Da Lat is an awesome break from the sweaty heat of Vietnam. As our business is focussed on coffee, we have connections with farmers, processing and roast coffee in our coffee shop. We can offer training in these areas for those who are interested. Additionally we promote sustainable farming and hope to work towards providing knowledge to local farmers and producers to help them attain greater margins for their product and cut down on the use of harmful fertilisers and pesticides. We were also teachers, so those who might need advice about teaching English here in Vietnam are welcome to talk with us. We can help with accommodation and finding work in Ho Chi Minh City, where we started our lives in Vietnam. Our new business is focusses on health and spiritual wellbeing. If you feel like this resonates with you please mention it to us!
