    Description

    Hi there!

Myself and my partner have just bought a house in East Cork and would love some help with some DIY projects in the house and in the garden. We would specifically be looking for help with planting, digging, painting and weeding. The garden is quite small but needs a good bit of work.

The area we live in is 5 minutes drive from a gorgeous beach and lighthouse(approx 40min walk), 5 minutes walk from the village which has a great café and supermarket and two pubs, 3 min drive from a great bar and pier that often has live music and other events and less than 5 minutes drive from a local farm which is also a gorgeous café. There is a bus that goes approx. three times a day into Cork city but I also work in the city so could help with lifts. My partner works from home. It would be approx. 30 mins drive to Cork City and we would be very happy to give lots of recommendations of things to do etc.

We ourselves are both very active and I love sea swimming and going out for walks at the beach. We are involved in local swimming, running and football clubs. Tiarna plays fiddle and often goes to Irish trad sessions in the city.

The house itself is a small three bedroom cosy house in an estate and when the weather is good you can lie out in the sun all day in the back garden! The views in the back are looking at local farms as the area itself has quite a country feel.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We would love to host someone and learn more about their culture. We have been travelling and backpacking for the last few years and have had some amazing experiences doing workaways so would love to provide that opportunity to someone else.
We both speak Irish and would love to teach some of this if the workawayer was interested. We would also love to teach the workawayer more about Irish culture and show them famous places/sites.

Suggestions for time off: Visit White bay beach, go to Inch beach and check out the sauna and walk along the headland, visit Cork city and go to the English market, visit Cobh and get the ferry over to Spike Island.
House rules: As the house is quite new we would prefer no eating on the couch and shoes off inside. No smoking/vaping inside.
