Description
We have a family property, located in Gironde near Bordeaux.
My name is Caroline and I'm 59. I live with my husband, Pierre 76 and my mother Bina 86, and our two doggies and horse.
A park with century old trees surrounds the houses, and 50 ha of a pine trees forest.
There is always maintenance work on the property and the forest, the végéta le garden throughout the year.
I teach yoga. I know many things about horses. And with Pierre we go kitesurfing.
Pierre has lots of building skills and DIY skills.

Je suis Caroline 59 ans, je vis avec mon mari Pierre 76 ans et ma mère Bina 86 ans, et nos 2 chiens et quelques chevaux.
Un parc avec des arbres centenaires qui entourent les maisons, ainsi que 50 hectares de forêt de pins .
Il y a toujours du travail d'entretien de la propriété et de la forêt et le potager tout au long de l'année.
J'enseigne le yoga. J'ai de nombreuses connaissances sur les chevaux. Avec Pierre nous pratiquons le kitesurf.
Pierre est un grand bricoleur. Il a une formation d'architecte.

Je peux vous aider à améliorer votre français. Vous pourrez apprendre beaucoup de trucs pour bricoler. Nous pouvons échanger sur la pratique du yoga. Mon mari peut vous initier au kitesurf.

Help
We are looking for people who already has a bit of experience helping outside in nature if possible.
The chores are sometimes physical. It's better to be in good shape. Working with helpers make things mire fun and easy.
Then we like to exchange and talk and have a good laugh.
There is plenty to do in the park depending on the season : mowing and picking grass, trimming hedges, pruning branches, weeding gravel, passing wire cutters on curbs, blowing and picking leaves in autumn, disciplining bamboo, washing fences...
In the vegetable garden: weeding, passing the tiller, sowing and planting, harvesting the vegetables and washing them and still weeding.
Fences: change broken stakes, screw insulators, tighten ribbons, cut grass under fences with brush cutter.
The forest : maintain the roads, prune branches, cut logs for winter.
Nous recherchons des personnes qui ont déjà l'habitude de travailler en extérieur et dans la nature si possible.
Le travail est physique. Être en bonne condition est un plus. Nous sommes disciplinés dans le travail et nous aimons quand le boulot est bien fait. Faire le travail à plusieurs est plus motivant et amusant.
Puis, nous aimons échanger et discuter et rigoler un bon coup.
Il y a toujours du travail d'entretien dans le parc : tondre et ramasser l'herbe, tailler les haies, élaguer des branches, désherber le gravier, passer le coupe-fil sur les bordures, souffler et ramasser les feuilles en automne, discipliner des bambous, laver les barrières.
Le potager: désherber, passer le motoculteur, semer et planter, récolter les légumes et les laver et encore désherber.
Les clôtures : changer les piquets cassés, visser des isolateurs, retendre les rubans, couper l'herbe sous les clôtures avec le coupe-fil.
La forêt : entretenir les chemins, élaguer les branches, tronçonner des arbres, couper et fendre du bois pour l'hiver.

Accommodation
The accommodation is a single room with adjoining shower and washbasin. Separate kitchen. The room is right next to our house.
We have lunch together and you can cook for yourself for breakfast an dinner. We provide you food.
Le logement est une chambre individuelle avec un coin douche et lavabo. Cuisine séparée. La chambre est juste à côté de notre maison.
Nous partageons le déjeuner et vous pouvez cuisiner pour vous-même pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner. Nous vous achetons les provisions.
What else ...
A bus passes in front of the property to go to Bordeaux (1hour). The region offers opportunities to discover the beach, the ocean, the Bassin d'Arcachon, vineyards. The airport is 15 minutes away.

Caroline helped me with French and Pierre taught me many working skills.
The farm is a great place to stay and it's near Bordeaux, reachable by 1 hour with the bus.
Join the farm and you won't regret it.
Both Pierre and Caroline always wanted to help improve my French and both took the time to explain words or things that I didn't understand, which I really appreciate.
