    Description

Getting away from the hectic city life we decided to create this adobe of love in the foothills of Himalayas to help meditators, tourists and locals. Coming to the people we are a couple 'Ruby and Captain Shammi' and we have 2 daughters Annie and Zinny. We are the initiators of this project and we ourselves love to travel. We have traveled to more than 200 cities in the last 10 years across the world to meet new people, try different cuisines and meditate.

We have initiated this project with the primary goal to explore different ways of living our life with a strong focus on (ecological) sustainability, organic farming and being in a healthy environment. From these core focus areas, we are developing our project. To enable us to develop our project and work on our passion we are building this eco-home in pine valley with a spectacular view as accommodation for guest and a small cafe/restaurant, which we hope to open in Aug 2021.The construction is in the final stages and all the facilities are expected to be operational by August 2021.

Our project is located at one of the most beautiful locations in the Pine Valley and is elevated 6000ft above the valley giving a spectacular view. This is small-town connected by village road of one mile to Dharampur Ralway station which is on a heritage railway line between Shimla and Kalka. There aren't many outsiders in this village apart from us. With a population of around 300 people, their mountain life and culture have been preserved and guarantees an authentic and meaningful experience.

During your stay, you have the opportunity to learn many new skills in areas such as carpentry, gardening, landscaping, and there is plenty of room to develop and contribute your own creative ideas and maybe even bring them to life. We are always open to new ideas. You will have the opportunity to interact with local villagers and teach local children, contributing to their development and learn their world. You can also choose to learn Indian culinary skills, meditation, and yoga.

Our experience is that people have loved spending time with us and enjoyed a nice balance between project work and fun activities such as trekking, paragliding, enjoying nature and meeting like-minded people.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Shared accommodation: we currently have 4 big and bright newly constructed rooms with an eagles view over the valley along with 2 shared bathrooms and a kitchen. We generally don’t have more than two volunteers at a time and we provide individual mattresses, bed sheets, pillows and blankets for each person. You will be sharing the room with one of our team members and probably have loads of fun.

    # Local home made food
We are passionate about good and healthy food. Although we aren’t vegetarians, for practical reasons we mainly eat vegetarian food. We have a dedicated person looking after the cooking and we serve 3 delicious meals a day.
