    Description

Hi travellers, we would love your help on our mud brick post and beam house build. Or our wonderful garden!

We just turned the house site into our wedding venue so it looks sensationally amazing at present as a “venue” .

Next step is the walls and windows (but it does look good without walls) We have most of the bricks made but they need to go in the walls. Lots of fun and Many hands makes light work! Or there is always a billion jobs to do in the garden, or random other jobs. … side project is a bus deck out for future accommodation.

We think we are an awesome little fun loving family of Pete (carpenter) myself (teacher) and our 8year old boy, Leyland. We live in a shouse (shed/house) in the bush on 10acres in the Otway Ranges but only 15 mins from Colac and from Forrest too. It's a wonderful place to chill, read, ride bikes, motorbikes, swim in the dam, potter in the garden and play with our son on his very own adventure backyard/playground. We would love you to help us build our house and develop our garden. All permaculturally inspired as Kate’s a permaculture teacher.
We are very social people so you need to be socially capable and able to fit into all situations.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

As we live in a shed/house, affectionately called a Shouse, we have extra space in a caravan which is attached to the Shouse. That space would be all yours, which is nice and cosy, but remember we live In the bush so it's not fancy! Food is for sharing and brings the family together, so bringing new recipes to the table is always welcome.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Life in the Otways is simply beautiful for us. It's slow and we only have a little reception so if you can deal with limited online time then come join us for a week or two, or if you love us then stay as long as you like. We have lots of international friends as we are worldly travellers ourselves and everybody just loves being at our place. Come see for yourselves. No sex, drugs and rock n roll is encouraged here but sure go do that in Melbourne during the weekends. The train runs from Colac 3 times a day to Geelong and Melbs.
If you have a drivers licence and CAN drive well, we could help you out with a car to explore the Otways and the Great Ocean Road. Just need to prove your driving skills.
Being capable, self reliant and flexible are attributes that we love and would really help the experience.
Speaking Portuguese would also be awesome but not essential.
