Description
We live at Drakberget (the Dragon Mountain), a 200-year-old heated forest cottage in Acksjön, Värmland. Our life here is simple, nature-based, and centered around presence, cooperation, and mindful use of the body.
The cottage is surrounded by lakes, meadows, and forest trails. Just 10 minutes away is Ängsbacka Kursgård, Northern Europe’s largest center for personal and spiritual growth, offering workshops, yoga, saunas, movement practices, and a vibrant international community that you’re welcome to explore.
Drakberget is a place for slow living, shared daily life, and practical projects, balanced with rest, reflection, and enjoyment of nature. During the summer months especially, life here is active and embodied — shaped by daylight, weather, and the rhythm of the land.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This stay offers an immersion into quiet Scandinavian countryside life, where days are shaped by nature, light, and shared effort.
You’ll learn what it’s like to:
+ Live close to nature and seasonal rhythms
+ Care for a home through practical, physical work
+ Collaborate in a calm, sober, and respectful environment
+ Find satisfaction in simplicity and shared responsibility
Being close to Ängsbacka also gives you the option to experience an international, open-hearted community through yoga, saunas, workshops, and events.
The cultural exchange here happens through presence rather than structure — working together, sharing meals, swimming in the river, moving the body at sunset, and enjoying the long Nordic summer days with space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.
Help
This Workaway includes hands-on, practical work done together with us. Tasks vary depending on season, weather, and energy, and may include:
+ Interior demolition and light renovation
+ Simple construction projects (with guidance)
+ Painting, scraping old paint, and surface preparation
+ Gardening and outdoor maintenance
No prior experience is required. We work side by side, explain as we go, and value willingness, curiosity, and a positive attitude more than specific skills. We enjoy learning together and taking things step by step. You'll need to bring a YES attitude as this is how we live our life, and this is how we will enjoy work and rest together :D
