    Description

Project now on hold until summer 2024.
Hi, I am a single Mama currently travelling in India with my baby girl. We live in a small farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland. In brief I am looking for help this summer with some DIY tasks in an outbuilding.
The house is on a hillside in a beautiful wooded valley overlooking Bantry Bay. The town is 12km away. It's a very secenic peaceful location with lots of nice walks and treks around.

Ireland boasts a wonderful culture which is famous worldwide. West Cork is a very unique place in Ireland which tends to attract a lot of artists and people avoiding the 9-5 world due to the beautiful scenery and more alternative lifestyles lived here. It is a great place for anyone who enjoys peaceful country living, hiking or watersports and of course music and pub life!
Bantry town has many shops, pubs, cafés etc including a great organic shop but Cork city is easily reachable by bus also or just 50 mins by car from the house. So many nearby towns and villages are beautiful and interesting to visit as well as many places to walk with dramatic and stunning coastline. It really is a wonderful place to stay for a while.

    Help

I need someone with some previous DIY experience and skills but this is not a hard job. We will work together but I am not very experienced in DIY myself. Specifically we will be putting down a wooden or cork floor, replacing 2 old doors and just moving some perplex plastic sheets on the roof. It is an outbuilding not the main house. No pressure hours wise obviously - just a few hours whenever but will want someone to commit to see work through to the end.

I am more thanhappy to help people improve their English during daily life! Southern Ireland is a wonderful place to learn English as our accent is very clear. West Cork is a friendly open place where you will find it easy to practice your English in a pub or wherever.

    Accommodation

    Camper Van
A self contained camper van with kitchen, full bathroom, high sleeper bed and living area. Hot water and heating. It is very small but very comfortable and cosy. Plenty of storage space. It's parked in a field with fantastic views over Bantry Bay. Has canopy so can make nice living area outside too. We have lived in this for months and found it comfortable. You can eat with us of course or I can buy your food for the van if you prefer to eat alone. You can see van behind us in one of the photos.

I'm happy to drive you to town etc if you don't bring a car. I often go for drives to other areas on the coast for walks/hikes and usually go to the city once a week and
you will be more than welcome to join us of course. Hitchingg a lift is common here too and the neighbours will get to know you quickly!
