Description
We are a family of six, our youngest child aged 17 is still living at home, the elder ones are studying and live by themselves, but come visiting us regularly. We work on different projects, but mainly as an engineer and a teacher in primary school. We have been travelling a lot and are used to talk in English. Christi and the kids have also knowledge of various other languages. We have friends all around Europe and like to have visitors.
Our beautiful old house has a very big, but a bit overgrown garden. Our village, which is surrounded by forests, is in the countryside, but near Berlin and Potsdam and in a place with many cultural or musical activities, at least in the summer. We have access to two lakes where you can go swimming, paddling etc. and near our house you can watch very beautiful sunsets at the lake. In our garden you can find wild animals, like squirrels or hedgehogs, but we also have two rabbits to take care of. We like to make music and have several musical instruments including a piano.
From our place it is easy to go to Berlin. It takes around 40-60 minutes to go to Berlin (depending on the area) and 15 minutes to go to Potsdam, a very beautiful historical city nearby. The bus or the trains leave from here every 30 minutes during the week. At weekends the train or bus does not go very often, but it is also possible to go by bicycle (we could provide you with one) to Potsdam and then take the train to Berlin. Furthermore, there will be the opportunity to stay in our small flat in Berlin occasionally, in case it gets difficult to come home late at night.
We need somebody who is good at doing practical tasks around the house or in the garden and can do tasks independently as well as somebody who likes to take part in our family life and is able to integrate in the family. Our workaway should be a non smoker and rather flexible regarding food (we don`t eat a lot of meat and try to eat regional and seasonal), able to speak good English and at least interested in learning German and should be an independent person who is at least 21 years old.

Workawayers could explore the beautiful countryside around and we could also help you with learning the German language. There will be time and opportunities to discover Berlin and also Potsdam, where there are many places to visit and a lot of cultural events happening. We would also be happy, if they get to know friends in Potsdam or Berlin and thereby learn more about the life in our region.
Help
We need a warmhearted and flexible person who is willing to help with several things in the house or in the garden and who likes to share our family life, for example take part in our meals. It would be nice if it could be somebody who is able to cook and likes to prepare the family meals from time to time. The needed tasks can vary depending for example if there is something to harvest in the garden or if there is something to repair in the house.

Accommodation
You will have your own big room with garden view. We have two toilets, but at the moment only one bathroom, so we would have to arrange us. Meals we usually take together except from breakfast at weekdays, so we appreciate a person who also likes to eat together with the family.
