    Description

    Hello!

My name is Miri. My family and I run a small hostel in the historic neighborhood, Gorica, located in Berat. My father helps with general maintenance and repairs and my mother helps with cleaning the hostel, laundry and setting up the rooms for guests. My brother and sister-in-law help with reception and management.

Berat is a tight-knit community and every aspect of running the business involves members of the community. From the farmers which we get our produce from, to the bakers that deliver food for our traditional Albanian breakfast, to the local guides that help guests explore this beautiful region - we guarantee that volunteers will feel welcomed as family during their time with us.

Berat is for history and nature lovers alike. Berat is an important historical city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also known as the “Town of 1000 Windows” or “Musuem City,” it is quickly becoming a top destination for travelers exploring the region.

Nearby is the notable Osumi Canyon, known for its red rocks and vibrant blue water where visitors may hike, raft and swim. Berat is also nestled near the base of one of Albania’s highest peaks, Tomorri Mountain. Those looking for outdoor adventure will not be disappointed.

Volunteers are strongly encourage to join our small homey hostel so that we can give you the opportunity for an authentic cultural exchange and learning opportunity. As a valued member of our team we will provide you with an insight to the beauty and simplicity of an Albanian lifestyle. I was lucky to have been born and raised in this historical town. Therefore, I can promise joining us will be beneficial for all you cultural lovers and learners.
