    Description

HEY! I'm Jaime from Colombia. I moved to Canada in January 2012 seeking adventure and to pursue some dreams. As someone who likes to seek out different opportunities, I work as an Environmental Engineer here in Vancouver.

-One of my biggest hobbies is to volunteer. I enjoy volunteering in community houses, cooking meals for the homeless, and in youth development and social change movements.

-I'm interested in photography, sustainable development, DIY, and learning languages. I enjoy visiting places that allow me to learn about different cultures, ideologies, and gastronomy. I love meeting new people that are willing to share stories and exchange different point of views.

-I love mountain biking as much as city cycling.

-I'm into running! I run from 5 K to 10 K three times a week. I love to be outdoors, and running has allowed me to appreciate and love nature even more.

-Yoga is something I have recently started doing. It has helped me improve my running by giving me more body strength. I practice Vinyasa Yoga in a hot room, which makes it more challenging. I would also like to learn how to meditate.

-Camping, trekking, hiking, kayaking, and canoeing are outdoor activities that I must do at least once a year. To be honest, I am a lover of scenic sunrise and sunsets. I appreciate nature, and I like to connect with it as much as possible.

-Snowboarding, Skiing and Cross-country skiing are things that I enjoy.

Volunteers will get to enjoy the privilege of living by the beach. We are located 2 mins away from the beach and around 10 mins away from three other beaches. Stanley park is a gorgeous forest only 10 mins walk from the apartment. Coal harbour offers amazing views and the sea bus to North Van. The apartment has easy access to public transportation, and it's even connected to the ferry terminal to go to the islands. Rental for bikes, kayak, paddle boards and more, it's affordable and easy to access around the house.

I would love to create a community and make this our home as you are exploring Vancouver and helping me out pursue my goals. I believe I can provide insightful conversations and great advice for activities around Vancouver and BC. I will also love to help you practice your English, Spanish or French!

I look forward to learning about you !
