Description
We are a young family with 3 children. We love animals and have acquired 1 dog, 3 cats, 30+ backyard chickens and a small apiary of about 6 hives. During the day I am usually home with my youngest son while the older kids are in school. We have recently moved to the county of Norfolk in southern Ontario. We are 15 minutes from Brantford, 20 minutes to Port Dover and 10 minutes to the cute town of Waterford. We love exploring the latest antique shop and finding new nature trails or a new restaurant. But We mostly stay home and enjoy our 20 acres of land.
We have only lived here for a couple of months so we are still working on making this house our own. We will probably have one or two smaller projects going during your stay. The house is a late 19th century Victorian and we are in the process of restoring/updating it. We have an instagram account for our farm if you would like to see it. @wildbluefarmsTypes of help and learning opportunities

You will enjoy the serene surroundings of small town Ontario and get a real taste of the rural life. We are both born and raised in Toronto and could help you plan a day out if you would like to take the via rail over to the big city. We embody the typical Southern Ontario family. You would learn the inner workings of chicken keeping and if you are interested, my husband would be more than wiling to teach you about our apiary and have you get your hands dirty with some honey extraction. We do 2-3 harvests a year! Along with lots of hive inspections in between. We have many fruit trees and we plan to harvest lots apples and plumbs this year along with raspberries and strawberries that are scattered throughout the property. I plan on learning how to make jam and do some canning to make our yield last all year.

Accommodation
We have a guest bedroom on the upper floor with a queen bed. The room has a small dresser and a tv for you to use at your leisure. Your bathroom is just down the stairs from your bedroom. Although your bathroom is down stairs you won't be fighting for it as our kids and us have our own.
What else ...
We have a few towns close by with cute country restaurants and bars along with some great antiquing, if you are into it! There is fishing, nature trails and a great beach 20 minutes south of us in Port Dover. We have a Via Rail stop in Brantford for days off when you want to plan a larger excursion. You can travel to Toronto on the train and we are more than wiling to help you find great areas to visit. We do have two vehicles and are willing to transport you when planned. Other than that there is a small taxi service in town if you would like to be more independent. We are pretty busy and cannot drive you all the time but we are more than willing when it is convenient to us.
