The time I spent with this family has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in Ireland! From the very first moment, I felt like part of the family.
Thank you, Liz, for helping me improve my English, for our interesting conversations over a glass of wine, for sharing your delicious food, and for being there when I needed you. Thank you, PJ,
… read more for your patience in trying to understand me (because my English isn’t the best, haha) and for sharing all your knowledge about life on a small farm, the beautiful roads of Ireland, music, and your great sense of humor! You love your animals, and I really appreciate people like that.
These wonderful people made me feel at home from day one. The house is beautiful and cozy. If you stay here, you will have good accommodation and privacy, and there's no doubt they will do their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
I have learned a lot about recycling, heating a house, taking care of animals, and what real life in Ireland is like! I will miss watching films in this warm home, taking care of César (the best donkey in Ireland), and even finding lost sheep!👀🐑
Please send my love to the little ones in the house! (rolo and such a baby Dafne) I also wish you all the best in this new chapter in your new home—I hope to visit in the future! You are truly wonderful people. Thank you for everything 🥰🥰🥰Left by host for Workawayer (Ana)
It was an absolute pleasure having Ana with us for the past week. From the moment she arrived she brought enthusiasm and positivity to our home. She’s friendly, very sociable and interested in learning all about Irish life and culture. She is an excellent communicator and was very keen to improve her English which is already of a high level.
Ana
… read more was very eager to help out with all tasks assigned to her from cooking and cleaning to tending to our small flock of sheep and gathering and stacking firewood. She has great energy and was a very willing and capable worker.
Ana’s bright and bubbly personality makes her excellent company and we really enjoyed having her here. She is also very competent in the kitchen and treated us to delicious tortilla espanola and croquetas.
I have no hesitation in recommending Ana as an excellent workawayer.

Liz and PJ are fantastic hosts. I only stayed a week, but I wish I could have stayed longer. They are really welcoming. 7 days felt like a month because I felt so comfortable with them. I would go back anytime. They took me to Galway twice and picked me up from the bus stop a few times. They are really accommodating. We went to the pub together,
… read more watched movies, Liz even took me to the Cliffs of Moher! What a week.
The work varies so it's fun, I cooked, cleaned the windows, stacked a lot of wood, lit many fires in the fireplace and in the boiler house, and the best of the best, took care of the super lovely animals: feeding Caesar the donkey, bringing the sheep to the field, petting Rollo and Daphne, the cats of the house.
Liz and PJ love to share their knowledge about Irish culture and what you must visit in the surroundings.
I can only recommend you to be their next volunteer.s ☘️

I stayed with Liz and PJ two weeks on January 2025. They are just a lovely, funny, friendly and very hospitable couple. I felt like home since from the 1st day.
Liz helped me with English grammar lessons , cooked nice dinner every evening and she also showed me the town many times. She picked me up from the train station to home. She was just

I helped PJ outside with sheep, there is also a wonderful donkey, Caesar and two friendly cats Daphne and Rollo. I helped him working with wood and he was really patient and showed me how to working with.
PJ and Liz showed me one of the most beautiful lace around Galway by their own car, Cliffs Moher.
I spent a usefully funny and funny time with them.
Thank you both and I know we will see soon !

It was an absolute pleasure having Aurelia with us for a couple of weeks in January 2025. In fact we were very sorry that she had to leave us due to other commitments.
From the day she arrived she settled in and was a perfect fit for our situation. She brought enthusiasm and energy to our home and was a massive help to us both inside and outside
… read more our house. Indoors she washed windows, floors, did laundry, helped with food preparation and generally carried out a thorough spring-clean on our home. Outside she split and stacked wood, cleaned out sheds and helped with the first lambs of the season.
The most striking thing about Aurelia was her reliability, work ethic and initiative. After a couple of days she did not need to be told what to do, she saw what needed to be done and did it. She is a very hard-worker and no job was too much trouble for her. She tackled every challenge with a smile and went above and beyond in everything she did.
Aurelia was very interested in learning all about Ireland and in improving her English (which was of a near fluent level). She entertained us with fascinating stories of growing up in Romania and later her life in Italy. She has given us lots of information and tips to help us on our next trip to Liguria at Easter.
Aurelia has a fantastic personality. She is warm, respectful, a good communicator and has a great sense of humor that made her a joy to have around.
We couldn’t have asked for a better workawayer, and we highly recommend Aurelia to anyone looking for a reliable, positive and hardworking individual.
Thank you again for all of your help Aurelia. You are welcome back any time.Feedback

I am afraid there will never be a place better than PJ and Liz’s!!! They are the most fun, welcoming, hard-working, lovely people you’ll ever know! Their place is just gorgeous, the sheep are so sweet and silly, and the meals Liz cooks will have you gaining ten pounds before you leave because you’ll be eating all of it and licking the plate and
… read more pans after. They are so funny and love telling stories and hearing your stories. I learned SO much from both of them about SO much!!
I came right at the start of lambing season and learned a ton and got to hold and bottle feed the little lambies. I also did a lot of random work that needed done around the place with PJ and that was also great! I just had so much fun here. They really want you to experience Ireland well, so they give you time to go see and do the things you’d want, with help of travel details and such. They also have no problem making you a part of the neighborhood and family. It was just such a wonderful trip, I wish I could’ve stayed forever.
If you need a place to stay and would like to have a laugh and feel welcomed, please go to PJ and Liz’s. There’s no better place to be!!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
