Description
Hello, I'm Clare, I'm a young fun 58 year old living with my Fiancé, Pete, 54, a gardener, and our 5 cats in the French countryside of the Dordogne. I sometimes work with Pete and I help clean and look after people's properties. 5 years ago we bought our stone cottage with a good sized garden which was neglected and run down. It's not a renovation but needs general work doing. We have made progress and a lot of improvements. It's very frustrating as we struggle to do the jobs whilst working ourselves to make a living, whilst trying to do other projects in the house and garden as well as the general maintenance and cleaning. We are looking for help with things like painting inside and outside and with general small projects and general garden tidying. We have lots of friends and enjoy a good social life. Our location is peaceful and quiet. We live in a tiny village with lots of walks and places of interest to visit. It is a few minutes by car to Issigeac, our nearest large village, and half an hour to Bergerac where you have plenty of shops, restaurants and bars, plus the river Dordogne. There are many chateaux, museums and prehistoric caves around us and amenities to buy what you need. The Summer has festivals a plenty with lots of music , entertainment, day and night markets. There are lots of things to do and see in these pretty villages around us. Also you would be welcome to join us in our leisure time if you would like.

They could learn or improve French and English. We are English but speak some French continuing to learn. They could have the peace and quiet of a rural environment and some social interaction. They could experience learning about French culture, French food etc. They could experience time out with us and our friends as well as discovering what's around us.
Help
We are looking for an individual or a couple that can turn their hand to general painting, decorating and gardening maintenance. Someone who can help with general handy jobs. Generally another pair of hands. It will be working alone sometimes and with us.

Accommodation
Stone cottage mostly on ground level. The guest room is large, clean, bright, attractive and very comfortable. It has a king size bed. Warm covers, cool sheets, clean bedding, fluffy towells, everything you need for your comfort. TV with French and English channels, access to a computer upstairs, wifi. A private WC but will need to share main bathroom and kitchen, lounge and utility area. We have an attractive verandah and lots of outdoor seating.
There's room to be private.
What else ...
A car would be useful, however we have 2 cars, one which my partner uses for work and my personal one. We would be happy to give the odd lift. On your time off you are welcome to stay at home or go and explore any of the other aforementioned things. We have a tandem bike and individual mens and ladies bikes if you fancy a bike ride. We are kind and considerate and have respect for others. We treat people how we expect to be treated ourselves. We are easy going and have a good sense of humour. Since living here we have made so many friends and all are supportive of each other. We often meet other workaways through our friends.
