    Hello Friend!

Please read our entire profile and follow instructions on what your first message should contain. It shows us that you read our profile, can follow instructions and it saves us time asking the normal questions then waiting for your response.
:-) Thank you so much :-)

    About Me

You can call me Mama Shakti, I am a 50+ year old Micro-Farmer and Wellness Coach living in Georgia. I enjoy teaching and mentoring young people. I have a modest home on about a half-acre of land, just outside of the beautiful city of Atlanta, where I have indoor and outdoor projects that I could use your help with. From Building with Bamboo to Gardening and General Home maintenance, I've got plenty of fun for you!

I consider myself a kind and gentle laid back person who likes helping others. I love to travel and meet new people. I'm a Mentor, a lifelong learner, and a 30 year Vegan. I'm passionate about the world's cultures and when I'm not traveling I enjoy cooking, gardening, and connecting with like-minded individuals.

    What We're Looking For.
We have three volunteer categories choose from:

    A) Outdoor Tasks: Gardening, composting, carpentry, cutting wood, building community gardens, assisting with tiny-dome projects, and general property maintenance.
    B) Indoor Tasks: DIY building projects, cleaning, organizing, painting, general home maintenance, food preparation, recycling, downsizing, decluttering, and basic home repairs.
    C) Skill-Based Tasks: Contribute your talents to community projects, such as our community garden, free yoga classes, or workshops.

IN YOUR FIRST MESSAGE TO US PLEASE:
    1) Send us your email address so that we can send you our online application.
    2) Pick an area you'd like to work in or learn A, B, or C or a combination of them.
    3) Lastly, please include the dates you would be interested in volunteering for.

We typically work around five hours per day, leaving ample free time to explore our area, which offers hiking, parks, beaches, and delicious food. Our community is known for its open-mindedness and fun-loving spirit. While we might not have much time to socialize due to our home-based businesses, we're always happy to connect with you when we can.

    Extended Stays

We are happy to invite you for a 10-14 day stay. However, if you already have an RV, tiny house, or similar mobile dwelling, we would love to have you for an extended stay. If interested please express interest on your application.

I look forward to growing and learning with you!

During your off time, take a short drive to explore downtown Decatur or Atlanta's shops, restaurants and Universities; Morehouse, Spellman and Clark Atlanta University as well as Georgia Tech and Georgia state to name a few. Or visit the beautiful museums and sample the delicious restaurants which also hosts a farmers market every Sunday. We are perfectly positioned for public transportation. We are 5 minutes from organic grocery stores and juice bars, Stone Mountain for hiking, and many parks and museums for exploring. I look forward to sharing and learning from one another.
