    Description

My name is Wachara , living in Mfangano Island of western,Kenya. Its a real peaceful and calm Island providing serene and sensational interaction with nature e.g surrounding fresh water of Lake Victoria free from freezing, a swimming recreational site, traditional African boat ride, home to many aquatic birds and hippos which can be seen inhabiting various locations along the shore during recreational expeditions , fishing sporting etc,
The geographic scenes of the Island e.g the mountain range hosting many traditional cultural sites like the old rock paintings under caves where ancestors lived, sacred grounds which were used for performing rituals by ancestors like during prolonged drought, disease pandemics, pest invasions among many others are still preserved e.g The Kwitone and Mawanga rock art, The Kwitutu summit which is a most respected scared ground hosting ancestral spirits inform of snake with beads and purely disappearing white cocks. And generally much fun in rich wildlife SAFARI tours can be organized as well.
The panoramic view of the Island is real with clear sky for star view in the night, daily sunrise and sunset view can be watched as the sun rises in the eastern horizon and goes all the way to sett in the western horizon beyond the vast waters of L.Victoria.
I do organic parmaculture farming in my farm at the lake shore where I do vegetable varieties and fruits and cereal production for local consumption. We regularly prepare and use , compost and green manure for crops since we are an organic food dependent family. We are focused towards maintaining green environment by doing seminars on environmental conservation measures e.g conservation of soil ,water and air from degradation. For realization of a better green globe we accept accept people ready to learn and work with soil (make hands dirty) , practice and teach on global greening. We have special programs for our guests who are yet to gain knowledge on how its done.

With information being power to humanity, I established a first ever growing modern library in the region whose objective is to give residents (children and civilians) free access to information from English literacy books and e-study and research .Knowledge is power and practice justify it.In this line the local children have always enjoyed learning foreign languages (german, french and spanish with some swish) from our beloved visitors who have visited, having lots of fun amongst many other aspects of social life. We are much in reaching out to the community transformative developments.

our services are non religious , racial , tribal and gender based discrimination so we serve all with equality and dignity. Our organization is also dedicated in serving needy children and women in the community through social mentoring and empowerment to social life.
Here are activities volunteers do here, farm work, teaching languages, basic artwork and social skills , engagement in environment conservation activities in scheduled time.
We also look for someone who can teach in building of website, filming and photography, software and hardware engineering (competency based programs) help in organizing fundraisers and writing of grants for advancing our programs in the community . Welcome to interact with this great community of Abasuba.
