We need help from travel loving, web savvy, artistically inclined or just "good at getting things done" kind of travelers for: tourist/customer care, revamping decoration, bettering our online presence, general maintenance and housekeeping.
The Guesthouse is a small family run place that has been running for a bit over 15 years now.
We believe in "people meeting people", in personal growth through travel, good conversations, adventures and introspection. Because we are continually in pursuit of "something more" and are always open to learning, having a hostel has surpassed our expectations. We've met amazing people and it's a good life in the middle of the hectic and sometimes hard city of La Paz.
We understand that Workawayers may not plan on staying in La Paz for extended periods and are we're ok with that. Short and ultra short stays are fine, there's always something to do here—cover shifts at the front desk, things to paint, small repairs, shopping, marketing scheming, online stuff to learn/do, languages to practice.
We're all native Spanish speakers and it's always easy to practice with us or listen to us try to explain "stuff". Additionally, we also have separate projects that take us around La Paz, go on family recreational outings and do everyday things in which you're always welcome to come along.

We're a small multigenerational Bolivian family with diverse interests and activities.
While staying with us we'll do our best to help you explore and learn about La Paz and Bolivia while at the same time allowing you time to meet other travellers, explore the city or just relax and rest a bit to replenish your batteries.
We really enjoy long conversations on different topics and are always open to sharing and learning—we've been known to run late just because we got stuck in a good conversation.
There's three areas in which we could work together:
Guesthouse Tourist help and care. From the small everyday tasks and chores that would be previously detailed and specified to more "abstract" activities like brainstorming on how to run a better hospitality endeavor.
Guesthouse Improvement and Maintenance: Small day to day chores all the way to makeover projects, depending on what's going on time/budgetwise.
Guesthouse General: social media marketing, multilingual online presence and general bettering of out online activities. We of course, understand this requires know-how, experience and training so we're not going to ask for massive webpage development or complex multi-platform projects.
Also—we all here tend to be patient and are good at teaching stuff so if you don't have experience with painting, building things or using powertools, this is a good place to start so that you may safely grow your skill set for future Workaway stays.
Workawayers will stay in a regular private room, with shared showers and bathroom, at our guesthouse. All "house rules", such as visiting hours and midnight curfew will apply but in general it's a very relaxed atmosphere. Photos and any specific details can be provided on request.
Here, we have a kitchen for guests to use freely which is adequate for storing groceries and cooking. Depending on your food preference we can provide help in pointing out best places to shop in the local markets, buy in bulk or figure out the best way for you to get enjoyable food in every sense. We're not covering this expense but are very open to working alternatives out.
We're located in the city center, a five minute walk from San Francisco square, so you can find the full array of La Paz activities very close. If you plan on trekking, mountain climbing or taking multiday trips you can leave your things with us.
