This is an art center in Oaxaca, Mexico, dedicated to supporting emergent artists in our community. Along with the gallery and communal studio, we offer classes and workshops in all kinds of art form and crafts. We host a variety of events, from gallery openings and film screenings to concerts and tattoo expos. Supported by established artists, we create the space and opportunities for emergent artists to show and sell their work, as well as create in our space and join our community of artists.

General Maintenance
In our space, you’ll learn about managing an art center, from curation to administration. You’ll connect with the artists in our space and join in our the artistic sub-cultures of Oaxaca. This also means being part of a community outside our space, going to events and partaking in social activities with those involved.
Our space is managed young women from a variety of backgrounds, who all help out in whatever is needed, all tasks our workawayers can really help with. This can be daily tasks like cleaning up the space and some light gardening, to the occasional construction, mounting art, support with classes (even teaching classes, if that’s something the volunteer is interested in), painting, helping artists, or any other maintenance and support that an come up in our kind of space.

Oaxaca is a bustling city, lively with all kinds of art and culture, as well as active nightlife. Based in the center of the city, you’ll be near countless restaurants, bars, museums, and galleries, as well as all sorts of activities happening on the street. Public transportation is widely available, though a little difficult to get the hang of, but don’t worry, we’ll show you how to get around! Either way, the whole downtown area and other popular neighborhoods are well within walking distance. Within half an hour drive, you can be out of the city browsing textiles at a nearby town or hiking in the mountains that surround the valley.
