Description
We are a married couple in our 40’s who have traveled extensively around the world. We have lived and farmed in Hawaii and in Patagonia and are now starting our latest organic farm / sustainable living project here in Costa Rica. We are in the beginning phases, of fencing, planting, and dreaming up what is possible. We have a vanilla plantation, numerous fruit trees, coconuts, bananas etc... already going. The vision is to add greenhouses, vegetable gardens, aquaponics, micro greens, glamping facilities and a sustainable community space for all to enjoy.
Being that we are still in the beginning steps, and it is just the two of us and one part time employee, we very much welcome any assistance and all of your creative ideas as this project unfolds. We have roughly 5 hectares (13 acres) of workable land and pristine jungle with rivers and waterfalls, and beautiful ocean views. Located just 1 mile above Punta Banco, in the tiny village of Vista del Mar. There is world class surfing at the beach below and immensely beautiful mountainous jungle and abundant wildlife all around!Types of help and learning opportunities

Costa Rica is such an immensely beautiful place, where gorgeous beaches, lush jungles, a plethora of unique wildlife and the true aspect of Pura Vida abound. We are located, on the Pacific Ocean, at the bottom of the country, close to the Panama border. This is such a beautiful and special part of Costa Rica, as it is still so natural and tucked away and not over developed or too touristy. As well as the magic of the vibrant jungle mountains butting up agains the Pacific Ocean, it is also a merging area of many different peoples. The farm is located right at the boundary line of the Indigenous Reserve, so you have the beautiful native people and their ancient culture existing next to the beautiful Ticos of Costa Rica. And with the world class surf and yoga centers, you have adventurous young travelers to meet from around the world. It is a beautiful melting pot of vibrant diversity.
So whether you're interested in learning about farming and sustainability, ancient indigenous culture and crafts, extensive yoga teacher training from teachers around the world, learning how to surf, or learning a new language, there is ample opportunity right here in this little pocket of paradise.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We are looking for some vibrant, positive souls to help us with tasks on the land and dreaming up this paradise vision. There are many different tasks that you could assist with from clearing, trimming, weed-eating, and fencing, to planting trees, planting seeds, tending gardens, to small basic building / carpentry projects.
We could even shape what projects to do during your time here according to your interests and skills.
If you have a passion and/or skills in building, farming, planting, landscaping, permaculture, food forests and/or caring for the earth, then we would welcome your assistance and friendship on this beautiful farm in paradise!Languages

We have an entire separate 2 bedroom house just for our ‘workawayers’. You will enjoy free housing while you are here with us. As well as two bedrooms, there is also an indoor flushing toilet & shower. Meals will not be provided, but in your house, there is a kitchen with a sink & an electric 2 burner stove, and a small store for basic supplies is just 100 meters away.
There is no wifi in the house, but there is good cell signal if you get a CR SIM card. (Kolbi / ICE is the service provider here).
We also have two bicycles that you could freely use.
We are also currently creating a large camping area for those interested in staying in a tent. (Your own tent, or one of our huge 4m x 4m (12ft. x 12.ft) tents. There will soon be an outdoor kitchen, bathroom, and shower. What else ...
You will have ample free time to explore and enjoy the area. There are great jungle walks to waterfalls, beautiful long beach strolls, bicycle riding and horse back riding to explore the immense beauty all around. There are even dolphin/snorkel boat trips here in the Gulfo Dulce!
There is world-class surfing all along the coast line, with waves of every size depending on your comfort level… Surfing, boogie boarding or simply swimming and playing in the waves.
The town of Pavones is just 5 miles down the road, with small stores, restaurants a cafe and a bar. The charm of Pavones and second longest left surf break in the world, keeps this little town full of interesting travelers from all around the world in the many hostels, cabinas, or simply camping in their van. So in addition to the local Ticos, there is plenty of opportunity to meet and connect with tons of other world travelers.
And of course, this area is famous for its several Yoga centers. As well as yoga retreats, and teacher training courses, there are tons of daily yoga classes open to everyone in the gorgeous hardwood floor, open air centers, seemingly hanging up in the jungle canopy overlooking the crashing waves and expanse of the Pacific.A little more information
