Welcome to our agroecologic farm. We are based nearby Calarcá, Quindio in the well-known Coffee Region of Colombia. We will be happy to receive you on our land where our family and neighbours have been implementing agroecology for 22 years. Our mission is to restore the land through agriculture and reach a greater food autonomy. We believe that caring our land and implementing eco-friendly practices are the nicest ways to have a wealthy environment/lifestyle, produce high-quality food and connect to the greatness of earth.
Organic Coffee, Plantain, Sacha Inchi, Cacao and medicinal herbs are the main crops we produce. But you will also find vegetables and other Andean cereals. We put a special emphasis in finding the best synergies between crops and promote a wider diversity of products.
We are now stepping up in our organic project developing new by-products hoping to access new markets and share our vision to consumers through bioproducts.
We also act as the Head Quarter of a community-based Agroecology School which is a space where we share organic practices, get weekly trainings and develop organic systems with the other members of the community.
We have one of the most beautiful view on all the Quindio Department.
We would prefer to have guests who have some basics of Spanish in order to ease the communication as we don’t speak English.

You will be hosted in our family where we will be happy to share our culture (food, music, habits). You will be involved in various aspects of our daily activities and the Kakataima School activities. Therefore you will get a deeper understanding of the reality of agriculture in the rural areas of Colombia, learn from organic agriculture and eco-building. We usually organize a weekly “Minga” (Community work) to help each other within the community with the agrowork that has to be done. So this is a lovely way to connect with other organic farmers of the area. Feel free to teach languages, music or other kind of social activities you may like to organize which is a lovely way to share with us and the members of our community.
Overall, we usually need help to plant crops, do maintenance on the land, prepare biofertilizers, harvest, build bamboo infrastructure. We also make a strong emphasis on transforming products and developing new by-products, strengthening new commercial channels. So any of those abilities will definitely add-up to our project.
We will be happy to further discuss the specific tasks with the persons interested in our project to make sure that our guests will have a very beneficial and amazing experience.

A bamboo shed with single beds, shower and bathroom is available. Balcony with lovely view on all the Quindio Department. If you want to get a greater sense of nature you could also use your tent or hang a hammock on our property.
A four-wheel drive service is available 3 times a day either to the towns of Calarca or Cordoba.
The Quindio Department is one of the most beautiful scenery of Colombia. On your days off we could recommend you to visit Salento (one of the most beautiful village of Colombia), the Cocora Valley, Pijao (Slow Town) and all the touristic attractions of the Department. You could maybe head to Cali (3-hours drive from Armenia), Santa Rosa de Cabal (thermal baths), Pereira and Manizales (to go up to the Ruiz National Park) for a couple of days too.
