    Description

We are a non-profit, small animal clinic hosting since 2018.

We have 1 last-minute General Volunteer placement available due to a family emergency & subsequent cancellation of the lovely volunteer who had been booked for our April/May opportunity. We are seeking someone who can join us immediately and MUST be able to stay through to the end of May (May 30th end date at the earliest).

Due to the closure of Qatari & other Middle East airspace, there are no economical flights operating from Europe at this time. It is entirely likely that this position will only be able to be fulfilled by someone currently in or very near our region of Southeast Asia.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We respect everyone's identity, culture, time, and energy. We aim to offer a middle-ground and do our best to "meet you where you are". This is a safe space, including for LGBTQ+ folks.

Volunteers must be prepared to adapt to the norms & values of our Buddhist Thai community with an open heart and curious mind.

This is a rural, small village, with direct access to nature at all times. Expect to engage with challenges related to climate, and all of it’s flora & fauna.

  • Help

    Help

This is an independent help from 8:00-11:00 or 9:00-12:00 Monday-Friday. It consists of approximately 1 hour of daily cleaning & pet care followed by approximately 2 hours of deep cleaning, home tasks, gardening, etc. This is primarily physical menial tasks + expected bonding with our 9 adult foster dogs.

General Volunteers MUST have experience with animal care of medium+ dogs, eg: petsitting, shelter/clinic/humane society, dog walking.

This is a single placement for 1 person or 1 couple visiting Thailand on a tourist visa. It is expected for this placement to be fulfilled by someone willing to use up-to the entirety of their 60-day tourist visa. Tourist visa extension & land/sea travel to/from Bangkok can be reimbursed at the end of your stay.

At the second-half of your stay your host will utilize your prescence in our team as a petsitter. You will live on-site at the clinic for 19 nights, you will have private access to the entire living area at this time & still have access to your off-site bungalow.
Tasks are reduced to maintenance home cleaning and 2 daily dog walks at 6:30am and 5:30pm daily. A small daily food stipend will be provided for all of the days petsitting. The clinic will be closed during this time so you can enjoy the comfort of our home environment living with our adult foster dogs.

Your host’s travel dates are fixed as they were booked with the previous volunteer’s consent. It is incredibly unlucky that they have had to cancel last-minute due to family emergency, and so we are in need of someone to take their place. We are seeking someone who can join us ASAP and MUST be able to stay through to the very end of May (May 30th end date at the earliest).

April/May are the hottest months in our region. Seasonal storms begin in May and increase through June. The “high season” for tourism ends in March due to tourists preference for more temperature heat. At the end of May most of the seasonable tourist businesses will close. This is an ideal time of year for someone who is more introverted, averse to rain or poor weather, and interested in a quiet & reflective volunteering holiday.
