    Description

Hi there, we are a family of four, I’m Amanda, My husband Ian, and our two kids, 11 and 8. We have two black Labrador’s 3 goats and black cat with 3 legs.

We live in a little gem of a valley, 10 minutes off the Bruce highway halfway between the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.

We moved to this beautiful valley from Canberra over a year ago now, to follow a bit of a dream to have a better lifestyle, more involved with nature.

We’re slowly setting up a bit of a hobby farm, building fences, A tiny home, Get my beehives back up and running, Chooks and other animals, tiny house to complete building, Probably a caravan and fit out soon, retaining walls, terracing and landscaping. We’d like to also set up more sustainable methods of farming and gardening, permaculture, veggies. We also have two dams that we are looking to regenerate somewhat.

Our spot is picturesque, we have 5 acres and a view from the front deck that overlooks the tree lined valley, we have daily king parrots and lorikeets, various birds and abundant wildlife.

We would welcome you into our home and share our home cooked meals, we live food and eat well, we have a self contained room for you, we’d be thankful for any help you can offer, we’re happy with long or short stays, and there’s lots of various things we’d love any help with.

Good to note that we are not vegan but we welcome any dietary preferences, however you would need to bring and cook your Vegan protein :) We will of course accommodate where possible with lots of veg and fruit :)

    Help

We have various options for help.

We have a half built tiny house that needs completion, a chook house going up, a goat shed, paddock maintenance, dam maintenance, animal feeding, landscaping and gardening, weeding, permaculture mentoring, creating veggie beds and tending to them, planting trees, removing trees, general maintenance, beehives to get back up and running, looking at more sustainable off grid watering for the gardens, building a studio, doing up a caravan - potentially, if we can find one to do up, cleaning inside and outside, Cooking, and even just being good company for the kids, or minding them - we are very flexible depending on the skills you have or what you’re keen to do. We are also happy for you to be social or not depending on your preference.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Your accommodation is a ‘tiny house’ it’s comfortable for a single person or couple as it has a double bed, it’s self contained with a small fridge, and sink area. You have access to the house at all times and your own bathroom in the house (external entry too) there is no bathroom in the tiny house. You can use the kitchen in the house too of course.

We will cook you meals in the main house and you’re welcome to eat with us or separately.

If you are vegan we will accommodate where possible however you will need to ensure you bring your own proteins of choice. We cook lots of vegetables.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

A car is strongly recommended, since transport is not readily available here, and we are about 10 mins drive to the nearest shops, however I’m happy to drive you to places when I am going to the shops or we visit the beach etc.

    Specific information
-BYO alcohol, we will offer a limited amount with dinner or a beer after work, but it’s best if you like a drink that you also have your own supply
    - Each day we can mutually agree on the job and start and end time, we are flexible on this however want to ensure that this works well for both parties.
    - general expectations are that you clean up after yourself (I.e. put rinsed plates in the dishwasher)
-internet is able to be used however we work from home during the day and if the connection is poor will need to make sure it’s only used for downloading after work hours etc
-any specific dietary needs or snacks you will have to bring with you, but you are always welcome to eat what we have here :)
