    Description

I'm Robin, I live in a gorgeous town (1.5 hours west of Melbourne - population 8k) I have had a workaway host profile some years back when I lived in the Dandenong ranges and hosted many backpackers. It was a wonderful experience. I live alone but am very close to everything in town.

Castlemaine is an arts precinct that nurtures its artists and musicians. I am involved with lots of people who care for the environmental and cultural growth of the town. Castlemaine is a goldfields town - there are lots of interesting walks. It's also super easy to get around. Everything is walking distance!

If you like live music, fun people, seeing kangaroos and native birds, I think you'll love Castlemaine. There are amazing bushwalks where you will definitely see kangaroo mobs - fyi they'll be checking you out too! If music and arts is your scene I can introduce you to those as well.

Accommodation - you will be staying in a spare room in the house - very comfortable double bed.

Food - I love to cook and make food to accomodate all tastes and dietary preferences/needs.

There is a train from Melbourne to Castlemaine. I can pick you up from the station.

I look forward to hearing stories from your travels and sharing my wonderful town with you.

The gold rush in the 1850's was a significant time. Just walking around will give you a huge insight into the area. You will see what impacted the area and what is being done now to reinvigorate the landscape and wildlife.
The town has a fabulous precinct called The Mill, that has local cheese producers, a chocolatier, a bakery, a vintage market, local brewery and local coffee roasters. All set next to the Botanical gardens. It's a vibrant little spot.
The local pubs have live music - there's always something happening.

I have a few projects that I'm starting. I'm spraypainting the back fence and would love a helping hand.

I also need help in the garden, as I'm planting trees and would like someone to help me dig. There are lots of odd jobs that we can work on together.
