Description
We are a family‑run, small, exclusive Resort close to Whitehorse in Canada's Yukon. We are on a semi-remote location in the countryside, on private 145 acres, 25 minutes from downtown Whitehorse in the Yukon, with eight individual guest chalets.
In the fall & wintertime, we focus on the Northern Lights. We have a bonfire outside every night, and our guests can enjoy the view of the Aurora Borealis. During the day, we offer tours and activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling, and wildlife viewing.
We are a small team of 12-14 members from various countries, including Canada, Germany, China, Japan, and the Philippines. We welcome you to work with us and experience the magic of the Yukon, a winter wonderland with spectacular views of the Northern Lights, and the eternal, larger-than-life nature of summer.
There is always work, as life here is an everyday new adventure!
Please note: We pay the minimum wage of the Yukon for every hour worked, $18.

Help
We are looking for one (or possibly two) reliable and motivated WorkAwayers to join us in the Yukon. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong work ethics, a practical mindset, and a positive attitude. This opportunity is best suited for people who enjoy being useful, take responsibility seriously, and don’t mind getting their hands dirty.
We are flexible with start dates. You can start anytime and stay until mid-April (end of the winter season), continue with house-sitting and summer work until August, or potentially extend into the next winter season for the right fit.
Ideally, you are very reliable and trustworthy, hard-working, and have a strong work ethic. Being handy and practical is important, and experience with repairs, maintenance, or mechanical work is a big plus. You should be comfortable working independently, physically fit, okay with outdoor work in all seasons, friendly, respectful, and aware that this is not a holiday-style WorkAway.
The work changes with the seasons. In winter, this includes night guiding for Northern Lights viewing a few nights per week, general maintenance and small repairs, snow removal, and winter upkeep. During April and May, the focus is on house-sitting, general care of the property, and light maintenance. In summer, tasks include forest work and FireSmart projects, repairs, upgrades, maintenance, and taking care of the place during the summer months.
We offer fair pay, free accommodation, and access to a staff car for grocery runs and commuting to town. You will live on a beautiful, remote property and experience the Yukon in a very unique way, including Northern Lights, nature, quiet surroundings, and wide open space. You will gain practical experience, responsibility, and independence, with clear expectations on both sides.
This is not a typical WorkAway focused on relaxation. It’s a great fit for someone who takes reliability seriously, enjoys meaningful and structured work, likes remote living, and appreciates variety and responsibility.
If this sounds like a good match, please send us a message and tell us about your availability, your hands-on skills and experience, and what you’re looking for in a WorkAway experience.

What else ...
Resort & Spa is located approximately 25 km south of Whitehorse in a quiet, natural setting. There is no public transportation to the property, but staff often have the opportunity to join one of our regular shuttles into town. For those with a valid driver’s license, a staff car is available for personal use during free time (based on availability and responsibility).
While small in size, Whitehorse is a vibrant northern hub, offering a mix of cultural events, local cafés, galleries, and outdoor activities. During the fall and winter seasons, the surrounding wilderness comes alive in a different way — perfect for those who enjoy crisp air, snow-covered landscapes, and Northern adventure.
Things to Do in Your Free Time (Fall & Winter Focus):
- Visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and see northern species like moose, muskox, lynx, and more
- Relax at the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, open year-round
- Enjoy snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on local trails
- Try ice fishing, skating, or even dog sledding during the peak winter months
- Hike into the hills for stunning views and quiet snowy trails
- Take a weekend road trip to nearby destinations (staff often carpool or share vehicles)
Recommended Trips (Drive Times):
- White Pass & the South Alaska border – 1.5 hours
- Kluane National Park & Mount Logan – 2 hours
- Dawson City & Tombstone Territorial Park – 7 hours
Whether you're into wild landscapes, quiet evenings under the stars, or getting active in the snow, life in the Yukon offers an unforgettable experience far from the ordinary.
