Description
Hi! I’m Bárbara, 22, from Gran Canaria
I’m finishing my Film & TV degree in the US, and this summer I’ll be back home, super excited to host a few Workawayers and share a fun, creative experience.
I love meeting new people, making projects together, and just enjoying life.
I love traveling, planning adventures, and exploring new places, so if you’re up for it, we can discover Gran Canaria together.
The house is super spacious and has hosted a few weddings (my sister’s and my brother’s!) so there’s plenty of room to hang out, work, and relax. You’ll get to meet some of my big family 7 siblings in total! and my sister and her husband from France, who are really fun.
I also love creative projects, filming, photography, and storytelling, so if that’s your thing, we can definitely make something together. The house is even a space we’re thinking of using for future retreats, so we can brainstorm ideas or get creative while helping with the property.
I’m really open-minded, curious, and down to learn from you as much as I hope you’ll learn from me. I just want this experience to feel fun, relaxed, and shared, a little mix of work, adventure, creativity, and good vibes. Every day will be a bit different, but I promise we’ll make it enjoyable and memorable!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Honestly, this isn’t just about work, it’s about hanging out, having fun, and sharing experiences.
I come from a big family (we’re 7 siblings 😅) so there’s always something happening, and you’ll get to meet them and feel part of it. I love movies, so expect movie nights, and I also love cooking, we can cook together and try new recipes.
I’ll introduce you to my friends from the island too, they’re super chill and fun.
We’re really active people, so we play padel, tennis, golf, go to the gym… basically anything goes. And of course, we’ll explore the island together, beach days, surfing (I’m learning haha but my brother can teach us), hikes, camping, random drives, trying local food… or just chilling and doing nothing sometimes.
I also study Film & TV, so if you’re into movies, filming, photography, or just creative projects, we can make something together.
And I want to learn from you too. Whatever skills, ideas, stories, or energy you bring, I’m excited to share life and have a really fun, cultural exchange together.

Help
Workawayers will mainly be helping with different tasks around the property depending on what’s needed that day. This can include gardening, painting, small building or DIY projects, organizing spaces, and some general housekeeping to keep everything nice and in order.
We’ll mostly be working together as a team, I’ll be there with you, not just giving tasks. I really want it to feel like a shared experience where we can also learn from each other. If you have any specific skills (creative, practical, or anything else), I’d love for you to bring them and maybe even teach me or the group.
Since I’m into film and storytelling, I’d also be happy to collaborate on creative projects if anyone is interested, filming, photography, or just coming up with ideas together.
The tasks won’t be exactly the same every day, which keeps things more dynamic and less repetitive. The goal is to make the work enjoyable and balanced, and to create a good environment where everyone feels comfortable and involved.

Accommodation
We offer a bed in a shared room with the other Workawayers, so it’s a cozy and social setup. The house has a kitchen where we can all cook together, and we’ll provide the food, you’re welcome to help cook or just enjoy eating together.
The space is clean, safe, and comfortable, and we’ll make sure you have everything you need to feel at home while you’re here.
What else ...
The schedule will probably change a bit every week, so days off might be different each time. There’s a bus stop nearby if you want to go explore by yourself, and I also have a car, so we can plan trips together, beach days, hikes, surfing, or just random fun adventures around the island.
I’m still young and love doing this kind of experience. When I volunteered in Hawaii, the best part was that we were always doing stuff together, exploring, learning, having fun, and it was honestly amazing. I really want to create the same vibe here. We’ll work together, cook together, hang out, and explore Gran Canaria together.
House life is super relaxed. Nothing strict, just helping out and keeping things nice. The idea is to feel comfortable, included, and like you’re part of something fun while also helping out a bit.
