Description
Looking for "farm-sitters" in July !
Welcome to our family farm! We’re a Greek family of four, living close to nature and embracing a simple, self-sufficient lifestyle. A few years ago, we left behind city life and careers in political sciences to care for our ancestral olive grove and start fresh with organic farming. With no prior experience, but plenty of passion, we’ve created a home that balances sustainability with the joys of family life.
Our farm is alive with the beauty of old olive trees, young saplings, and a small vineyard where we make natural wine. We also grow seasonal vegetables, fragrant herbs, and care for a lively flock of chickens that keep us company. This is just the beginning—we dream of planting more trees, expanding the vineyard, and adding more animals to our growing farm family.
We’re looking for volunteers who share our love for nature and want to experience authentic farm life. You’ll help with daily tasks, join us in the fields, and become part of our family. Our two boys, aged 5 and 8, are full of energy and curiosity. They’re bilingual (Greek and English) and love learning from the people who visit. Your presence will also give us the occasional chance to recharge while you babysit them.
Whether you’re experienced in farming or just eager to learn, we’d love to welcome you. Come help us care for the land, share meals under the stars, and build memories together. Join us and be part of our journey!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Join Our Cultural Journey: Become part of our family’s mission for sustainable living and experience the authentic Greek way of life. From tending olive trees and vineyards to crafting natural wines and learning organic farming, you’ll gain hands-on insights into our traditions and practices.
Beyond the farm, explore ancient history, the spirit of Sparta, and the charm of local villages with their unique gastronomy. Share in our daily rhythms, learn Greek phrases from our kids, and enjoy cooking sessions where I’ll share recipes and my expertise as a wine and olive oil sommelier.
This isn’t just a visit – it’s a chance to be part of our story, embracing the land, culture, and the joy of shared experiences.Projects involving children

Help
We need a lot of help to maintain what we already have:
- take care of the animals
- take care of the vegetable gardens and planting the new seasons vegetables. (September and April)
- Pick the olives in autumn (October - November )
- take care of the vines in spring
- grape harvest and almond harvest in summer (august)
- weeding and cleaning the farm in Spring (May - June)
We also need helping hands to keep expanding our activities:
- Create a new home for the geese and ducks
- Build more raised beds in the vegetable gardens
- Build stone walls and gabion walls for separating areas in the farm
- Plant new vines and other trees
- Create more infrastructures for the volunteers
Our family needs also some support:
- Creative and educational time with Jason (8) and Orpheus (5) especially in the summer that they are not at school. They love creative STEM projects and also we appreciate any contribution with the english language (reading-writing-speaking)
- Cooking healthy organic yummy meals (our family is very foodie and we have high standards. We love international cuisine and especially Asian, Mexican, Lebanese and of course Mediterranean)Languages

Frangiskos, the dad of the farm, grew up in the US, so English is also his monther language. The two boys are raised bilingual any opportunity and help with the english language is appreciated. Myself (Marilena) I am fluent in english and french, however, I do not have the opportunity to practice french often. So I also appreciate any opportunity to speak and improve french.Accommodation
Your Home on the Farm: Stay in our cozy, off-grid trailer house with three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and modern bathroom facilities. You'll have your own private room to relax after a fulfilling day on the farm.
Enjoy hot water, heating, internet, and a private patio with beautiful views. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and nature, offering you a peaceful retreat while being part of our farmily’s sustainable journey. What else ...
Our farm is 5kms from the village, but the village does not offer organized markets or entertainment. You can explore the area using the public bus that connects some villages. We can also drive you down to the biggest village when we go for shopping or get the kids to school. In the area you can find ancient ruins, medieval castles, very old churches, mountain hiking, relaxing beaches, picturesque small villages.
Our farm is not the ideal option for the people that are used to a city lifestyle. If you are down to earth, realistic, independent and eager to learn new things, this is the right place to be. We have many books in English about organic and biodynamic farming, sustainable architecture, food, wine, gardening etc if you want to broad your knowledge. There are also literature books to read under the shadow of the olive trees. We also have plenty of films to watch. You can also hike around the farm and discover the nature. We can teach you wild greens foraging or soap making if you want to adopt a new hobby.
We also love spending quit nights with good company and good wine getting to know our volunteers better and learn from their experience and cultures.A little more information
