    Description

Welcome to our thriving farmily adventure! Nestled in the heart of nature, we're a vibrant family of four on a mission to embrace self-sufficiency in both nourishment and energy. Shedding the hustle of urban life and political sciences, we embarked on a journey to cultivate a life that celebrates organic farming and fosters a deep connection with the land. With no prior experience, but fueled by boundless passion, we've not only nurtured our ancestral olive grove but also blossomed our agricultural pursuits, achieving a harmonious balance between sustenance and sustainability.

Our enchanting farm encompasses the enduring beauty of our perennial olive grove, its seasoned branches intertwined with the promise of generations to come. Amidst these ancient sentinels, we've lovingly nurtured a new generation of olive trees, mirroring our growth as a family. Our animal companions, a merry troupe of poultry, lend their lively presence and charming antics to our landscape – a testament to our commitment to compassionate coexistence.

Venturing further, our small yet promising vineyard unfurls, a testament to the marriage of tradition and innovation. From its sun-dappled clusters emerges our very own nectar – a pure, natural wine that encapsulates the spirit of our land. Nearby, our bounteous vegetable garden burgeons with the rhythm of seasons, offering a kaleidoscope of vibrant, organic produce. Fragrant herbs dance in the breeze, promising to elevate our culinary creations with their aromatic charm.

But our story is far from complete, and our dreams stretch as vast as the horizon. The future beckons with the promise of more companions – diverse breeds that will join our farm family. The vineyard's embrace will widen, with new vines weaving stories of generations. Olive trees, sturdy and timeless, will stand alongside newer additions, their fruits a testament to nature's abundance. Herbs and fruit trees will form a vibrant tapestry, enhancing both our cuisine and our bond with the land.

This is where you come in. We extend an open invitation to kindred spirits from around the world – volunteers who share our love for all things natural and sustainable. Our two remarkable boys, aged 4 and 7, are bilingual dynamos (Greek and English), brimming with curiosity about the world around them. They eagerly await the chance to learn from the diverse talents and skills you bring to our fold. In return, we offer an authentic experience of farm life, where you'll not only lend a hand but become part of our close-knit farmily.

As the day's work melds into the enchanting hues of dusk, and the starlit nights unfold, we welcome you to share in our journey. Your presence not only assists our farm but also enriches the lives of our boys, offering them lessons that only a global family can provide. Your reliable companionship will also grant us the occasional respite as you gracefully step into the role of caring babysitters.

So, whether you're a seasoned green thumb or a curious wanderer, join us in sowing the seeds of knowledge, growth, and lasting connections. Let's cultivate dreams, nurture the earth, and create a tapestry of shared experiences. Your adventure awaits at our farmily haven.

Embark on an Immersive Cultural Journey: As a vibrant family-driven endeavor committed to sustainability, our farm beckons Workawayers to be integral players in this impactful mission. By joining us, you'll unlock a world of unparalleled experiences and profound cultural exchange.

At the heart of it all is the opportunity to be enveloped by the authentic Greek family lifestyle – a tapestry woven from traditions, daily rhythms, and the tantalizing flavors of our cuisine. Immerse yourself in the mosaic of our days, where the clinking of tools on soil and the rustling of leaves in the wind are harmonious companions.

Beneath the Grecian sun, you'll glean insights from our hands-on journey, a tangible education in organic and natural farming practices. From the very vines that yield our natural wines to the olive trees that bestow the revered Greek extra virgin olive oil, you'll partake in the age-old rituals that produce treasures of the land. Discover the art of crafting natural wines and delve into the nuances of Greek grape varieties, as you raise a glass to the symphony of flavors unique to this region.

Yet the experience extends far beyond the fields – venture into the heart of history as you explore the remnants of ancient Greece and the legendary spirit of Sparta. The quaint villages, alive with their rare Greek gastronomy, offer a tantalizing journey for your taste buds. And don't be surprised if our young son imparts some Greek words, making language a bridge between cultures.

A feast for the senses awaits as well, as cook and wine and olive oil sommelier, I am happy and ready to share my culinary prowess and expertise. Recipes and knowledge, like the bounty of our land, are generously laid before you, embodying the very essence of our ethos.

As you breathe in the air perfumed with earth and dreams, let this cultural exchange be a chapter in your own story. One where you're not just a traveler passing through, but a vital thread woven into the fabric of our farmily's journey towards sustainability and celebration of life."

We need a lot of help to maintain what we already have:
    - take care of the animals
    - take care of the vegetable gardens and planting the new seasons vegetables. (September and April)
    - Pick the olives in autumn (October - November )
    - take care of the vines in spring
    - grape harvest and almond harvest in summer (august)
    - weeding and cleaning the farm in Spring (May - June)

We also need helping hands to keep expanding our activities:
    - Create a new home for the geese and ducks
    - Build more raised beds in the vegetable gardens
    - Build stone walls and gabion walls for separating areas in the farm
    - Plant new vines and other trees
    - Create more infrastructures for the volunteers

Our family needs also some support:
    - Creative and educational time with Jason (7) and Orpheus (4) especially in the summer that they are not at school. They love creative STEM projects and also we appreciate any contribution with the english language (reading-writing-speaking)
    - Cooking healthy organic yummy meals (our family is very foodie and we have high standards. We love international cuisine and especially Asian, Mexican, Lebanese and of course Mediterranean)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our farm is 5kms from the village, but the village does not offer organized markets or entertainment. You can explore the area using the public bus that connects some villages. We can also drive you down to the biggest village when we go for shopping or get the kids to school. In the area you can find ancient ruins, medieval castles, very old churches, mountain hiking, relaxing beaches, picturesque small villages.
Our farm is not the ideal option for the people that are used to a city lifestyle. If you are down to earth, realistic, independent and eager to learn new things, this is the right place to be. We have many books in English about organic and biodynamic farming, sustainable architecture, food, wine, gardening etc if you want to broad your knowledge. There are also literature books to read under the shadow of the olive trees. We also have plenty of films to watch. You can also hike around the farm and discover the nature. We can teach you wild greens foraging or soap making if you want to adopt a new hobby.
We also love spending quit nights with good company and good wine getting to know our volunteers better and learn from their experience and cultures.
