Description
We are a familiy, who lives in Bielefeld . Bielefeld is a city with a lot of culture like theaters, museums etc, close to the Teutoburger forest.
We live on a 3 ha yard with a vegetable garden, animals ( goats, sheep, cat) . We are very interested in renaturation, permaculture, orchard meadow, bread baking, art, pottery etc. We live in a very green place but you can drive with a bike Bielefeld city in 25 minutes.
We have a big house with some free rooms. Two of our children (age 10 to 21) still live in our house. Sometimes friends and neighbors come to pick some fruits or help in the garden.
We are very queerfriendly and curious to have guests to live and help with work around the house and the garden.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The workawayer can join our family life, get a bike and explore some nice places in and around Bielefeld, learn some gardening and farming skills etc.
We like to meet different people with different cultural backgrounds, our kids like to speak English, we like to work with people from foreign countries and exchange knowledge.
We love to put a lot of love into the things we do and if we have time like to give an artistic touch to the things we create. We like people who enjoy their life and enjoy creating beautiful things.
Björn is trained in Thai Yoga Massage and can share a lot about Bodywork. We all play musical instruments and like singing and love to share music with others.

Help
We have always a lot to do here around our animals like fixing some fences or cleaning out the stables. We can always use a hand in the garden as well, such as pulling weed, harvesting, caring about the compost, distributing compost, cutting the lawn, pruning trees, planting trees, renaturation.
Some tasks we may do together and some not. We adults have main jobs so we are not working in the garden or around the house the whole day.
We like to share our skills with you like vegetable growing, bread baking, pottery etc. and love to learn from you!

We love languages - be it our own German language, in which we like to play with words and discover forgotten words. Be it French. Björn lived in France for a year and loves this language and is happy about every opportunity to speak it. Philine loves English and has learned some old Latin and Greek... Our kids are very interested in English and some French, too.
Accommodation
We have two guest rooms in our house. But you can also sleep in a tent if you prefer this.
We use the kitchen together. We are vegetarians. We prefer when people don‘t cook meat in our kitchen if possible. We love to cook, especially a lot of vegetables from the garden, make kimchi , bake bread…
What else ...
We provide a bike for you so you can drive in 25 minutes to the inner city of Bielefeld. Most everything you may need can be found in the city, as we have 350.000 inhabitants and the city has vibrant areas. There is a public bus running to the inner city every 30 minutes - or more often if you ride you bike to another bus stop ~7 minutes away.
