  Description

  We are a family of six who live on 5 acres in the Whangarei heads, one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand. We are a 2km drive to closest beach and a 30 minute drive to the Whangarei city.
  My husband Nev works at home as a structural engineer and I am a school teacher/music teacher and busy mum whose main passion is working in the garden growing things!
  We have a large established garden and I am always adding more flower beds, vegetable beds and expanding our food forest!
  Our four children are two boys aged 11 and 9, and two girls aged 7 and 3. The three older kids are at school and our toddler is a kindergarten 3 days a week. It’s a busy home in the morning and evenings when the kids are all home but they absolutely love having visitors stay and are very curious about other countries and will ask you lots of questions!
  We would be a great place to come and stay if you love nature and want to stay in a beautiful place near the ocean with lots of beautiful walks in the area.

  My husband has a tourism business and when we lived in the same city as the business we loved meeting all the international tour guides. We have had workawayers before from the Netherlands (I am from Dutch decent) and have had woofers from abroad. We love learning about different cultures and customs and are very open minded people.

  We have a spare bedroom in our house with a queen bed and you will share a bathroom and seperate toilet in the downstairs floor. We also have a spare vehicle available for use.

  What else ...

  Because we are out of town with no public transport it would be ideal if you had your own vehicle. However we do have a second vehicle that could be used on arrangement to get into the city. We have a small village with small supermarket etc that is only 10 mins drive away that we go to frequently as that is where our children’s school is.
  There are quite a few events that happen in Whangarei on the weekends and so many beautiful places to explore around our area, defiantly a good fit for someone who loves hiking, being in nature.
  My husband and I both have a Christian background and endeavour to live in a way that shows love to others, our beautiful world we live in and both pursue a journey of self growth and self care.
