  I am a musician (guitarist), so I travel a lot. I am married to a Brazilian and have 2 daughters. In this beautiful village of Friedrichsrode, I bought an old, dilapidated farm 26 years ago and converted it into a beautiful, creative place. But there is still a lot to do...
  
  Ich bin Musiker (Gitarrist), reise daher viel herum. Ich bin mit einer Brasilianerin verheiratet und habe 2 Töchter. In diesem wunderschönen Dorf Friedrichsrode habe ich vor 26 Jahren einen alten verfallenen Bauernhof gekauft und ihn zu einem schönen kreativen Ort umgebaut. Es gibt aber immer noch viel zu tun....

  Friedrichsrode is known as an artists' village. Events and seminars often take place here, so you can learn a lot. You also have the opportunity to improve your German language skills with your host.
  
  Friedrichsrode ist als Künstlerdorf bekannt. Hier finden häufig Veranstaltungen oder Seminare statt. Man kann also eine Menge kennenlernen. Außerdem hat man die Möglichkeit mit dem Host die Kenntnisse der deutschen Sprache zu verbessern.

  Help

  This is a large former farm with a large garden where there is always something to do. For example, gardening, but also smaller construction help, as a building is still being expanded. Help is mainly done with straw and clay, but traditional building techniques can also be learned. If someone can paint well, I would be happy if someone would paint walls for me, or make other art objects in the garden (e.g. benches).
  
  Es handelt sich hier um einen großen ehemaligen Bauernhof mit großem Garten, auf dem immer etwas zu tun ist. z.B. Gartenarbeit, aber auch kleinere Bauarbeiten, denn ein Gebäude wird noch weiter ausgebaut. gearbeitet wird vorwiegend mit Stroh und Lehm wobei auch traditionelle Bautechniken gelernt werden können. Wenn jemand gut malen kann, würde ich mich freuen wenn mir jemand Wände bemalt, oder andere Kunstobjekte im Garten (z. B. Bänke)herstellen würde.

  Accommodation

  There are several accommodation options. All are located in former farmhouses, have been renovated and lovingly furnished. Single rooms and double rooms as well as separate apartments are available. Food is given by the host. You tell want you like and the host will buy this. Or the host will go with you to the market. (In the village itself there is no possibility to buy something, exept the breadcar with reachs between 11. and 11.30 a.m.
  
  Es gibt mehrere Wohnmöglichkeiten. Alle befinden sich in ehemaligen Bauernhäusern, sind saniert und liebevoll eingerichtet. Einzelzimmer und Doppelzimmer und auch separate Wohnungen sind möglich.
  
  Food is given by the host. You tell want you like and the host will buy this. Or the host will go with you to the market. (In the village itself there is no possibility to buy something, exept the breadcar with reachs between 11. and 11.30 a.m.

  What else ...

  Der Anschluss an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel ist nicht einfach. Der Bus fährt 2 x (pro Woche) Man kann aber einen Bahnhof (Sollstedt) nach einer Stunde Fußweg erreichen. Normalerweise wird eine Autofahrt zum oder vom Bahnhof organisiert. Was man hier sehr gut kann ist wandern.
