I am descendent from zapotec so I can teach/ show to the workaway's about the zapotec culture, history, music, customs, and food of the region Isthmus.

The Zapotec of the Isthmus are one of the largest indigenous peoples living in Mexico. The cultural values of the Zapotecs remain intact, although innovations from the outside are easily incorporated (it is in fact a cultural value to do so). Important values include prestige, “belonging”, conformity to the group, festivals, education, latest styles and high-tech equipment. The traditional dress of the women is graceful and dignified; as seen in the pictures. It includes a full, long skirt and a blouse which is typically embroidered or appliquéd. As a result of the value placed on higher education, there are many kinds of professionals among the Zapotecs—doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, teachers, politicians. Even when leaving the area for work opportunities, the pattern is to maintain a home in the isthmus, returning there for special fiesta times, as well as at death for burial.

I expected learn mainly the language, culture, of the workaways.

My project is teach english and computing to all native people from región isthmus totally free in order to improve the quality lífe of the community.
