Katharina, was with our family for 2 weeks, at first she was very homesick and we did all we could to assist her during her new travel transitions. The children were very excited to show and help her during her stay. Within a week of being with our family she says she was shy and didn’t speak much which is no problem everyone has different

Sadly during that time she would “roll her eyes” when asked by the children to do something with them. Her attitude to assist was no longer. She put a very big damper in our household, which we didn’t expect. She would hide in her bedroom when dinner could have been started. --text redacted-
I gave Katharina 5 days notice to move onto another destination. Sadly this person didn’t workout in our family, and the small jobs requested were never done a happy attitude and rarely smiled.
We wish her the best in her future travels and experiences.

I stayed with Diana and the family for 3 weeks (20th Jan - 8th Feb 2019).
The family is open and kind, their loghouse is amazing and it really adds to the authentic Canadian experience. The accommodation was great, and I enjoyed all the small trips, movie nights, and guest dinners we had together. Moreover, I got to meet other Workawayers in the
… read more area, and I was very delighted by that.
However, my stay did'nt end so well...
One morning I was suddenly told by the host, that I couldn't stay there anymore. Fair enough, but I did'nt get an explanation for why I needed to leave. Only later that evening, the host explained to me that I was too quite, and that I needed to leave because of that.
It all came as a big shock for me. I'm an introvert, and I had not expected to get criticism on my personality - which I unfortunately got.
However, they did let me get five days to make new plans, but from that moment on, it wasn't pleasant for me to be there. I did'nt feel welcome and I also felt a bit ignored.
In a nutshell, a good experience turned into a less good one. Still, I'm thankfull for the family's hospitality and the good times we yet had together.
I hope they have learned something from my stay as well.

Diana's family is super welcoming. We spent about two weeks there. The kids are full of energy and the house is beautiful. The work consisted mainly of carpentry, childcare and cooking. Thank you Diana and co for your welcome.

We just stayed 4 days with these guys and we had a good time. They are all very funny (especially the kids) and the house is amazing!!! We didn't had to work to hard and they are easy going, which made us feel very good at their place! Thanks again :)

Diana and her family are amazing and really easy going people! I was with them for 2 weeks and it was enough to feel part of the family and to miss them a lot when I left! The house is incredible! The land is amazing!
I was helping them to move some things from the old house and to clean and organize inside the new one. Sometimes I cooked and

They are a really special and lovely family, always worried about me. The kids are smart, helpful and funny! I would totally recommend this host!!! And I would definitively come back to spend more time with them!
I will be always thankful for the time we had together! Love you guys! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Francine was incredible! We couldn’t have enjoyed her company help and fun! She was so helpful and willing to be part of our family, no job was to hard for her to try. She will be terribly missed and always welcome back to our farm. We will always stay in contact with her. Cannot recommend enough! :purple_heart::purple_heart:
