    Description

    * We are also looking for a couple to come and help us harvesting mango and avocado from our garden during the month of April/May! The harvest period starts in one week! :)

We are a team of three people (2 from Sweden and 1 from England), who have the shared dream of starting a high-end, boutique hostel within the jungles of Minca in Colombia. We have found the most beautiful spot, ten minutes from the beautiful jungle town of Minca, with amazing views over the jungle canopy, all the way to the city of Santa Marta and the ocean beyond!. Apart from the amazing views and the beautiful lush jungle surroundings, we picked this location because it has got the unbelievable perks of having its own waterfall on the premises! The building, which dates back 100 years, is a large Colonial house, that we have been renovating for months to become the perfect, modern and beautiful house for our hostel guests.

This is the project of doers with big dreams! We are done with the renovations and are now looking into the future and how we can expand, make the business better in terms of skipping plastic, being environmentally conscious, growing our own crops and work in harmony with the magical sierra Nevada, where we are situated. We will finally have time to start with the project of making a beautiful garden with different themes and areas, which will span across the 4 hectares of land that we have.

Don't hesitate to write us to get some more info!
    All the best from us,
    Isabella, Emil and Dylan!

We are looking for a few different volunteers to join our team, with a variety of skills/experience, from carpentry to help out with gardening, beekeeping, teaching English, teaching yoga and also helping us develop other creative projects. Your opinion is important to us and we welcome creative volunteers who think outside of the box! Whilst we are ideally looking for people with experience and skills in the relevant areas, the personality of the volunteers is just as important, and we are only looking for people who are passionate, creative, fun and friendly, who can join our team for a minimum of one month. You will work five days each week and have two days free each week.

You will sleep in a comfy bed in one of our guest dorms. You will sleep in bunk beds and the room have fans, though up here in the jungle the nights are cool so maybe you won't feel the need to use it. In the dorm, you will have your own bathroom with shower (and hot water!) and toilet. Every day you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner made by our chefs. You can choose between non-vegetarian (chicken or fish), and vegetarian food.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our hostel-to-be is located just outside of Minca town, 15-20 minutes walk or 7 minutes on a motorbike from the hostel. Minca town is a small town but has over the last few years it has gone through a big change and is now a place with lots of tourism and with a lot to offer (as mentioned before). In Minca town you will find small shops often with handcrafted things like bags and jewelry, there are also some nice restaurants, cafes, bars, a chocolate & coffee museum, and many more cool things to do in and around the area.

From Minca you can easily get to Santa Marta with a car, motorcycle (moto taxis cost 8-12,000 pesos) or a bus (8,000 pesos) in about 30 minutes, which gives you the freedom to experience all that Santa Marta has to offer as well. While the jungles of Minca is the perfect place for hiking, bird watching, off-road motorcycle tours and refreshing baths in the rivers and local waterfalls, Santa Marta offers the beachlife, nightclubs, restaurants, cafes and a lot of history and culture. Santa Marta is an important caribbean coastal city also known for being the connecting hub thanks to its closeness to the jungle, the Sierra Nevada mountains, Tayrona Park, Palomino, many beaches, and the desert en la Guajira. So come and enjoy the best that Colombia has to offer, whilst helping us build something amazing!
