Description
Currently looking for someone to come and stay
Kia ora,
We’re Ana and Oli, living on a semi-rural property in New Zealand with our two children, Barra (2 years old) and Fia (7 months), and our little dog Bruiser. Our home used to be an orchard, but now it’s a lively place with our family, a separate house where Oli’s parents live, guesthouses, and a yoga studio.
This summer, we’re specifically looking for someone to join us in family life, mainly helping with our children. Whether it's taking them on outings or entertaining them, this would give me the time to focus on other tasks. Ideally, you’d have experience in childcare, be easygoing, and enjoy the fun chaos that comes with life with two kids under two.
We’d love for you to be part of the everyday life—helping around the house and caring for the children—but also joining us for social activities like trips to the beach, barbecues, or even camping adventures. For the right person, there’s potential for some paid work or babysitting for neighbors with a child close to Barra’s age.
This setup is really about finding the right fit—for you and for us. Ideally, you’d be independent, with your own car or the ability to drive, as our family vehicle doesn’t always fit everyone. If you’re someone who’s happy to be involved in the daily rhythm of a Kiwi family, but also enjoy your own explorations on weekends, we’d love to hear from you.
Come stay for a week or two, and we can see if this arrangement works for everyone. If this sounds like you, please get in touch
We love welcoming people into our home who share our love for travel and enjoy the exchange of cultures. Our dream is to grow more of our own food, and we always have exciting projects in the works. Accommodation
Spare room in our main house at the moment. At some times of the year we could even host you in our glamping site or rental room. This depends on the time of year and our guest schedule though
We are working to add a self contained option for work awayersWhat else ...
In working distance to Havelock north and public transport
Easy access to all the sights
Option to use our pool & hot tub
Borrow electric bike so you can explore the local areaA little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers

Can host digital nomads
I work from home mostly myself but we can certainly support this. Most likely suits someone who works part time as I work full time in the office but if they don not require a private office space then they are certainly able to work in our lounge/kitchen easily
Space for parking camper vans
Lots of space for you to park up and access to bathrooms and showers in side our house or also have sites in other parts of the property you could use

More than two

We still comment almost weekly on what a great job she did
There are really flexible and welcoming
She and her husband were always very polite and made sure we were okay. They also appreciated our work in the garden and prepared good food.
We had a great time there and are thankful for everything. :)

she is a very hard worker and not afraid to have a go with anything you need help with.
She is autonomous and great to notice ways she can help herself and also take direction for specific jobs
such a pleasure and welcome back any time!
