  • Description

    Description

We are a Dutch family who moved to a small, authentic village in central Portugal a few years ago to create a different way of life. Together with our two children, our dogs, cats and chickens, we enjoy living surrounded by nature, hills and traditional houses.

We love a simple, slower lifestyle and spending time outdoors.

Our home is a peaceful place where you can enjoy nature, walks and the quiet rhythm of the countryside. We believe in sharing experiences, learning from each other and creating something meaningful together.

Over the coming months we'd like to start several small projects, such as organizing our vegetable garden, improving the land, and working on other creative ideas around the property. We don't have everything planned out, we actually love it when people bring their own ideas, skills and enthusiasm.

We hope to welcome people who enjoy working with their hands, appreciate simple living, and like sharing a meal sometimes, a cup of coffee and good conversations at the end of the day.

If you love nature, peace, authenticity and a little adventure, you'll probably feel right at home here.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Living with us means experiencing everyday life in a small, authentic Portuguese village rather than staying in a tourist destination. We enjoy sharing our way of life, spending time outdoors, exploring the surrounding nature and getting to know people from different cultures.
We believe cultural exchange goes both ways. We'd love to learn about your country, experiences and skills, while sharing ours. Whether it's working together on a project, visiting a local market, having a coffee or simply chatting at the end of the day, we hope you'll feel part of our family during your stay.
If you're interested, we're also happy to introduce you to local traditions, beautiful hiking trails, nearby rivers and some of our favourite places in central Portugal.

  • Help

    Help

We're looking for people who enjoy creating and improving things. Experience with vegetable gardening, permaculture, DIY projects, landscaping or general maintenance is a big plus. We love learning from others and really appreciate people who can work independently, take initiative and enjoy finding practical solutions.
We don't have a strict schedule or a long list of jobs. Instead, we'd like to work together on meaningful projects that improve our home and land over time. If you have useful skills, creative ideas or experience to share, we'd love to hear them and make the most of your talents.
Above all, we're looking for kind, open-minded people with a positive attitude, good self awareness, respect for our family home, and a genuine interest in simple countryside living.

    What else ...

We especially appreciate people with experience in vegetable gardening, permaculture, DIY projects, landscaping, woodworking or general maintenance. We love learning from others and value people who bring their own ideas, creativity and skills.
We appreciate people who can work independently, take initiative, notice what needs doing and enjoy finding practical solutions, rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

In your free time you can explore beautiful hiking trails, rivers, waterfalls, local markets and the nearby cities of Aveiro, Coimbra and Porto. As we live in a rural area, having your own car is essential.
