Description
Hi! We are Nina and Benoît, a French couple who have lived in Galicia for 3 years.
Thanks to Workaway, we arrived in the region and met some wonderful friends.
We traveled before the world quite a bit and fell in love with Galicia. Now we want to host people in turn to discover the area and our way of life.
We have a land with a ruin. We live in the Tiny House that Nina built and in a caravan.
Benoît, 39 years old, comes from La Réunion Island and is passionate about waves (bodyboarding), cooking and gardening.
Nina, 37 years old, comes from the north of France and is an independent artist who spreads magic wherever she goes.
We are at the beginning of our project but we aspire to create a place with semi-food autonomy and an enchanted forest.
In winter we like to make big fire.

UN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can explore the area, we have many beautiful beaches around for surfing and hiking. We are 15 minutes from Ortigueira and Cedeira. 30 minutes from Pantín. We have a great tribe around of alternative friends.
We are self-sufficient in water and electricity with solar panels. Ben can share his knowledge if you are interested.
You will be able to unleash your creativity (painting, weaving, Land Art, etc.) Nina are happy to share her artistic knowledge.
In our region, many ecological projects are underway; we would be delighted to introduce them to you.
Help
For the next few months we are building a little bathroom and doing mostly gardening. You may have to do work that are physically but we can always alternate activities.
We ask for 4h of help, 5 days a week. If, for example, you would like to work 3 days a week, about 6/7 hours a day, and have the rest of the week free, just discuss it!

Accommodation
You will sleep in a caravan.
We have also a space for a van if you come with your house.
Comfort is simple: dry toilet and semi-outdoor shower.
We offer breakfast and lunch. The main meal is lunch (around 2:00 PM), and we invite you to have lunch with us from Monday to Friday. We do not provide dinner, and lunch is not included on weekends.
You can cook your food in the caravan for the evening but we can share dinner sometime as well.
We will provide you with some basic products to prepare your breakfasts and dinners (salt, oil, pasta, rice, beans, quinoa, etc.).
What else ...
There is a train station 2 km away. You can discover many beaches, there are walks, the local market, the cozy and relaxing atmosphere of the towns of Galicia. It is possible to surf and do yoga. Better to come with your own equipment to surf.
We have a nice river for swimming nearby.
We are quite easygoing by nature, we eat vegetarian but appreciate local fish.
It is easier if you have your own vehicle. On weekends you are free to visit the region or stay on site.
Also, be aware that summer is very pleasant, but winter is a bit cold, it rains, and night falls around 5 pm. Plan some relaxing time at home or pack warm clothes for going outside!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us.
