Description
We are a pretty active family of 4.
My name is Linda and I came to Australia in 2006 from Germany. Since then a lot has happened: I travelled NZ for nearly a year and went back to Australia (Melbourne) to study. That's when I met my husband Angus and in 2016 we had our son Valentin and in 2020 our daughter Fraya.
Our home is a country town in East Victoria called Bairnsdale (about 3.5 hours from Melbourne) which has everything you need from Bunnings to Aldi ;)
Bairnsdale is near the mountains and the sea. It's a 30 min drive to the beach, 10 min walk/ bike ride to the river and a 2 hour driven to the snow :)
We live in a 3 bedroom house with garden and just converted the garage into a little granny flat with its own ensuite.
We also have a few acres out of town with some sheep, fruit trees and natives.
Angus and I both run our own business which keeps us busy. We like adventures and when we get the time we enjoy camping, bike riding, projects and exploring new areas and hanging out with the kidlets of course :)
There are always lots of things to do here.
From baby sitting, soccer playing, puzzles, cleaning, cooking , gardening, lawnmowing, fencing, painting, dancing, hiking, cooking, baking, swimming, chatting and chilling... oh and eating and drinking of course :)
We don't have set jobs and times for you, but would like a hand here or there with the ususal day to day tasks.... and in exchange you're part of the family ;)
Food and accommodation is included of course and there are always things to explore.Types of help and learning opportunities

We have loads of projects and are always 'doing things from brewing beer, making sour dough, kombucha, tea yoghurt etc. Angus loves anything cars and bikes. We have a few pushbikes that can be taken out for rides along the railrail or river walks.
We recently bought a little caravan that we can hopefully take out soon to explore some new areas.Projects involving children

Help
We would love for someone to come stay with us as part of our family and help out in the house, garden, farm and with baby sitting/ school pick ups etc in exchange for free accomodation, food and a bike to get around with.
If theres is a lot of work or you're a handyman and help us with our projects we may even be able to pay you.
It would be fantastic if and you could speak German and teach Vali, Fraya (and Angus) some but its not a must.Languages

We have a selfcontained granny flat in the garden (with its own toilet and shower)
We would love for you to be part of the family and live and eat with us, but that's up to you. There is no real kitchen in the granny flat but you're welcome to use ours any time you like. What else ...
We would expect you to help out a a bit in house and garden and keep things clean and tidy as much as possible and not use our place as a 'hotel'. We had people stay in the past that were unfortunately here to be served by us. This is not our intention with this.
We are pretty open and generous when it comes to taking time to show you around and make you enjoy your stay.
If there are things you are especially good at Or not good at just chat with us and we will sort something out.
You must love kids!A little more information
